Default fittment question, new rims and tires

I got a 05 redline. i just but new rims and spring. not sure what tires to get yet, any suggestions? not trying to spend over 700 for tires. anyways i got XXR 521 with gold rivits. they are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x10 in the rear and i got roadmagnet springs that lower the car 1.75 inches. should i have any clearence issues? also what size tires should i get? im thinking 225/40/18 for the front and 265 or 275/35/18 for the rear.

dont know about what brand tires, but id say get wider tires go.. 245/35/18 front and 285/35/18 in the rear. Read up on the tire threads a bit more, theres many, itll explain everything, i think you need to understand tire sizing a bit better. You were gonna get taller tires for the front if you get 225/40/18 instead of 225/35(same as rear)/18

I don't know of ANY springs that will drop 1.75". In any case, you had better do more research because you're going to need a lot more than what you bought if your car is going to drop even an inch or more.

+1.... your looking at serious camber and toe problems going that low and for a front and rear camber/toe kit unless you find it used your looking at the 500 dollar range. I got my front and rear SPC kit from a vendor here on the forum. Great kit for the money and was a fairly simple install.

Roadmagnet springs? Where were these purchased? I've never heard of them.

nope, just install and roll. You can easily run 255/40-18's or 275/35-18's on them up front.

Judging from your questions, you definitely are wise asking for help.

For wheels sizes you are purchasing (“… they are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x10 in the rear”), the tire sizes you are considering (“im thinking 225/40/18 for the front and 265 or 275/35/18 for the rear.”) are all wrong.

Better tire sizing is 245/40-18” on your new front 18x8.5” wheels. For your new 18x10” rear wheels, consider using either 275/40-18” or 285/40-18” tires. You can go even wider if you pick the correct profile.

RE:> “and i got roadmagnet springs that lower the car 1.75 inches.”I doubt that the drop is 1.75”. It’s probably 0.75”

RE:> “should i have any [clearance] issues?”That depends upon the wheels’ offsets, and you do not provide that figure so it’s not possible to answer this question.
