Default Air leak between tire and rim

I have tried having the rim fixed which lasted for a while but then started leaking again, does anyone know of a sealant that I can use for this?

submerge entire wheel under water

isolate leak location

then take best plan of action for repair

RE> "I have tried having the rim fixed which lasted for a while but then started leaking again..."
If it's leaking again, obviously it isn't "fixed."

RE> "...does anyone know of a sealant that I can use for this?"
I wouldn't do that. Any sealant you use will likely fail (sooner than later) when the tire heats.

I assume you hit a curb or pothole that necessitated the repair. I'm guessing here, but really think you need a new wheel. I would check the tire first though since it might simply be a problem with the tire.

If your tire shop knew what was up they would use bead sealer..

Never mind. I thought this was important. Important enough to say “thanks” or simply reply.

Filled the tire back up with air and it's been holding since I wrote this, but I do remember many years ago when I saw a guy at a repair shop use some kind of black sealant on a tire to stop a leak between the wheel and the tire.

Air was leaking from the back side of the rim between the tire and the rim and took it to a shop to straighten the rim back.

If the repair looks good (the wheel is not bent, and you still lose air and know that the leak is at the wheel tire interface), you can use a rim/bead sealer (that is the black sealant you mention seeing in your previous posting). It’s only a temporary fix if the rim is not fully repaired.

I use rim/bead sealer on my off-road vehicle to maintain the seal when I “air-down.” It’s a little messy. I use a power washer to clean it off the wheel rim and tire.
