Default Rota P45R offset question

Hey guys, i just ordered a set of Rota P45Rs in Hyper Black for my black 350z. Going concave all around... the offset that they had available was +20 the rim size is 18 x 9.5 all around. Im planning to run 255/40/R18 in the front and 285/40/R18 (1.1%increase) in the rear. Do you think with +20 it would look flush? Should i have waited and gotten +30? What is the difference?

The difference is 10mm, the +20 will be ok. I'd go 265 front and 285 rear, or 275/35 front and 275/40 rear myself.

You intend to put a 285 mm tire on a 9.5 inch wheel?

+20 will look kinda flush. im running +10/+8 offsets and its perfect. not hellaflush. the +30 offset would have not been flush at all. it would have been the opposite. do you know how offsets work?

I kinda have a guess, but i never understood it fully. The 285/40 is currently mounted on the rim now and it looks HUGE... it feels like way too much rubber for that size of the rim. let me see if i can post a pic...

The 285/40 is alot of tire, but it's going on the back of a sports car. The rear fenders of the Z require a bit more wheel/tire to look filled up anyway. Get them mounted and post a pic. I bet it will look just fine.

this is how offset works. it denotes where the back of the hub is in respect to the centerline of the wheel. in layman's terms, the higher the offset, the further the wheel will be inside the wheel well ; the lower or negative offset, the further out the wheel will be. in not sure about other models, but the stock 03 track model wheels have a +30/33 offset

So why the different heights and what brand tires are you running? Looking for a street/track setup. Thanks

I like a wider tire. If you want a street/track set-up, one can go with Toyo R888 or RA1 tires, Dunlop Star Specs, or others, but those are the ones that I run. For this dual functionality, I'd likely run the same aspect ratio front and rear as well (i.e. 275/35 all around) so that I could rotate them.

Wheels are finally on the car. What a pain in the *** it was to roll the fenders. Yes you heard it right, i had to roll the fenders because the tire was too wide... 285/40/18 with +20mm offset was rubbing on every bump. Anyway, its all better now, i think the cars looks really nice now. Check out the pics...
