I just went from Kumho XS's to the Nitto NT-05's. I have only done one event on them, but they are slower than the XS's. (By at least half a second on a 60 second course.)

However, they take heat well and break away in a relatively gentle fashion once over the limit. They are supposed to last longer than the XS's, but I just got them so I don't know yet.

Haven't tested them in the rain yet, but I have read that they are good in the wet. (The XS's are horrible wet tires)

Some other fast street tires are Bridgestone RE-11's, Dunlop Star Specs, Hankook RS-3's. (and the Kumho XS's mentioned earlier.)

(Star specs are good in the rain, have not tested the others in water)

Thanks for all your suggestions and comments once again.

What does everything think with regards to the following:
Yokohama AD08 vs.
Bridgestone RE11 vs.
Continental ExtremeContact DW

Again,
My wheels specifications are
19*9.5 offset 22,
19*10.5 offset 22, and
my ride is slightly lowered by around 0.75 inch by Tein Monoflex.
I'm looking for a set of tires with very good performance in the dry, performance in the wet would be useful as well. Tire wear, noise, and comfort are all irrelevant factors for me.

The RE-11's are awesome. I have heard they don't like to get too hot. My only experience with them was in a student's car so I never had time to get them too hot.

No experience wit the AD08's but I have good things about them at the at the track. (well, except for the price of those things, Re-11's are expensive too)

No idea about the Continental's.

I've confirmed to go with 255/35/19 up front and 285/35/19.

For various reasons, I've only got the following choices now. If you were me, and I'm looking for a set of tires with very good performance in the dry, performance in the wet would be useful as well. Tire wear, noise, and comfort are all irrelevant factors for me. Which one would you chose?

Bridgestone S001
Bridgestone RE-050a
Yokohama Advan Sport

Why is it that you can get the Bridgestone RE050A and S001, but not the RE-11?

IMHO the TR1 is more for show then anything. Sure it has good wet traction with the aggressive V pattern, but dry traction It's not the greatest. Sidewall strength isn't what it should be. It's just not soft enough for track days or drag runs.

I would go with the RE-050a or Toyo R888's. I will be ordering a set of 18's and purchase some R888's for track days.

I guess it is just a local market limitation. The official distributor isn't importing that model into Hong Kong, maybe due to a lack of high volume demand. In the end, this region only has 7m population.

My local dealer tells me that S001 is an "upgraded" or "newer" version based off the RE050a. Can somebody confirm or heard anything along these lines? I understand that S001 only comes in 20" for US market, but it is offered here in much greater variation, including 19".
