So far the 20" That i know will 100% fit on Z is Andrew Baccarat Wheels. It's a veilside wheels.

a few have done it. just look at overall diameter on stock+tread and your target rim+tread

simply put the rears on stock 18s are 110mm you want to add 2" of rim, meaning 1" radius, so that is 25.4mm of sidewall taken up by rim(25.4mm=1") now you need 84.6mm of sidewall. assuming you go with stock 245 width tire, thatd be a 35 series tire. meaning 245/35/20 tread would fit on a 20" rim by about 7.5-8.5" wide.

be forewarned, with a 35series tire on there and a scant 84.6mm sidewall(roughly 3") there is a significant chance that you will be bending rims from time to time. that is just the nature of large rims.

the alternative is to go with larger rims and keep the same amount of sidewall, this will lead to a larger rolling diameter, and thus in essence rework your gearing, noticably affecting your acceleration(besides the inherent hit you will take by such a large increase in rotational mass)

if you must go with 20" Id definitly reccomend sticking to the stock diameter size and take your chances with the potholes.

20-inch wheels! Id feel guilty puting on 19s!

This isnt an SUV or a bently, its a sports car. I beg anyone who thinking about getting 20s not to.

Well I guess those are an exception since they are supposedly lightweight, but Id still definately go with the 19s.

IMHO, 19s look a lot more P.I.M.P than 20s. They kind of "take away" from the rest of the car.

light weight 20's are a minority, and even so, they will take a performance loss vs 19s or 18s simply because the mass is farther from the center. I forget the exact formula but rotational inertia increases by like the square of the radius. but if your worried about performance to that level, you wouldnt be considering 20's or 19's even .

Just an FYI:

20's with a 30% profile:

285/30-20:
--sidewall (mm) = 85.5
--diameter (mm) = 679.0
--circumf. (mm) = 2133.1

Factory rears on my Enthusiast:

235/50-17:
--sidewall (mm) = 117.5
--diameter (mm) = 666.8
--circumf. (mm) = 2094.8
(1.80)% difference in circumference.

1.8% difference in diameter which isn't even visible to the human eye likely. The moral of the story is: 20's aren't visibly any bigger than the factory 17's. 19's are actually smaller.

So the notion that 20's are huge on the car is false; skewed personal perception if anything.

not sure I got the point of that. you went from a 50series to a 30 series, and thats including the fact that you bumped the width up by 50mm. the idea of 20's isnt to have big diameter, its a big rim... in which case the 20s are 2-3" larger than stock.

if your trying to improve your quarter mile, its no secret, 20's are not the way to do it. but thats fine.

the only drawback is that the overall diameter of the Z with 20" of rim puts the sidewall at what atleast I would consider dangerously thin level. better to be warned of the possibility of damage than to be suprised down the road.

I was only commenting on the previous comments in the thread stating that 20's looked huge and overpowered the car.

No, they won't give you fast 1/4 mi times, but honestly, anyone buying a Z for a fast 1/4 mi car is an idiot.

I don't think the sidewall is that minimal on a 285/30. It's almost 3.5" of sidewall, honestly if you're hitting stuff hard enough to damage that, you probably shouldn't be driving this car anyway.

Jeffrey, you are a truly hypocritical rice rocket loving idiot. Many in this forum would agree.

Explanation? Self-Explanatory.

Hypocritical? Er ok, not sure how I was.

Rice rocket loving idiot? Nice. Great to see you're lack of any substance in posting just results in schoolyard insults. You'll go far in life. As well many members on this forum ride sport bikes. As well, you drive an import, so who's really the hypocrite?

Many on this forum would agree? Probably not considering most of the people in this thread said they actually liked 20's.

Self-Explanatory? Very. You've just shown everyone that reads this thread that you are unequivocally a jackass. Well done!

I've been a member of this forum for a hell of a lot longer than you and never had any run-ins with trolls such as you; I guess it was just a matter of time.

In typical troll-bashing fashion, you merely attack something you don't like with no supporting arguement, only cheap childish insults.

You don't need me to make you look bad, you did a fine job on your own with your butchering of the english language; nice contradictions there!

Good day.

Thanks again for proving my point so eloquently. A true linguistical genius you are. Please, don't stop now, it's just getting good!

I can see why your profile says "depressed" and "unemployed". I'd be pretty depressed if my view of the world were as self-abosorbed and narcissistic as yours. I'm sure you blame everyone else for being unemployed. God knows, I wouldn't hire you!

So far you are only making yourself look more stupid. I dont have to say why, because all your post are self-explanatory. Therefore, not needing explanation.

You wont hire me? Thats a shame, I always wanted to work at McDonalds. Too bad I already got a job.

:icon19 See, unlike you Im not always worried about what other people think of me on the internet. Dont be so sensitive, its only a thread.

Good Day
