I'm talking to a local guy with a set of tsw thruxtons 18" 8 by 9.5. They are very clean wheels. The front tires will need replaced soon, and the backs are ok (probably at least 6 more months out of them ). He is asking 600.
What do you guys think of these wheels in general, and the price he wants etc? This will be my first wheel purchase for the Z and just don't want to be steered wrong. If they were 19" I would have already jumped on them...
Also does anyone know the weight on these? I have done some searching and came up short.

They are the second one down.

I agree the widths aren't ideal, but this is what I'm working with. As far as the looks I have seen them in person and I honestly like them on his car a lot, and we both have black cars. He does have his lowered which adds to it a lot though.
Again any idea on the weight?

The bottom pic is on a black one.
I am on a budget for sure. I am taking 17 hours this semester just have a part time job.

IMO, save up rather than "dealing with what you can get right now."
I used to make that mistake all the time. Always regretted it later.
They're prob heavy. I don't remember ever hearing anything about TSW wheels even close to being light.

id pass and get the right wheels instead of being that guy i make fun of all the time for having stupid offsets and stupid looking wheels ..do it right once..and u need at least 10" in the back..10.5 prefer.
Not a bad deal at that price. However,I think your gonna be sorry you did'nt go to a 19".
You may want to settle for what you can afford now.But everytime you look at your Z
your gonna want something better.Basically, you are staying at close to a OEM size.
Truthfully, you are probably gonna buy those TSW'S..they look good. The hell with the weight!

Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it. It helped clarify some points for me.
TSWs are notoriously heavy.. those wheels in 20" are over 31 lbs.. and thats pretty damn heavy.
Axis makes a good cheap wheel... mine were 28 lbs in the back in 20.. some are still even lighter.
i sold mine for 400 btw.. axis VIPs in 20".. id not pay more myself for TSWs in 18 no less.. buy a set Enkei RPfs if you want 18s.

$600 spent now on Not Ideal wheels is $600 you could save and put towards a decent set of used RPF1s in a couple months with a little bit of patience & saving on top.
better sizing, offsets and weight.
*forgot to mention I agree with bmccann on the rpf1 option.
