Default Aggressive wheels setup assistance.

Hello all, I have a thread on the NISMO forums but since that has very low overhead, i decided to post a separate thread to solve my "issue" that i'm having. I'm attempting the find a tire setup without going into the INSANE stretch zone. Meaning i do not want to have my rim literally exposed but instead have a MILD stretch with some tire. Spec's of my setup are 19x9.5 +15 with a +15mm spacer to clear my brembos in front and a 19x11 +10 with a +20mm spacer to bring my steering geometry back in check due to the spacer in front. Car does have adjustable coilovers to go lower so ignore the gap in the pictures for now. I also have kinetix front A arms and rear kits so camber will not be an issue. The fenders are rolled and pulled in the front and rolled in the back. I DO plan on getting it pulled front and back just a bit more since my wheels stick out to an aggressive inch or so out. So suggestions would be helpful. I also should add that my Z does have VDC/TCS on it. Thanks everyone

I have searched the both fatty and stretched tires threads and used the 1010tires.com calculator but i still don't have a good understanding and before i buy tires that end up not fitting or matching, i'd like to ask for help from people who have knowledge in this field.

SPECS:

Fronts are 19x9.5 +15 originally but will become +0 (cuz i'm adding +15mm spacer)

Rears are 19x11 +10 originally but will become -10 (cuz i'm adding +20mm spacer to currect my steering geometry)

These spec's are due to the spacer in front needed to clear the brembo's and the spacer in the rear to bring the rear track back out in order to correct steering and driving geomtry since the fronts would be wider if i only had a spacer in front causing understeer.

Below are some pictures to help visualize the issue i'm in.

And below is the kind of stretch that i'm looking for on the RED G35 and the SILVER Z at the very bottom is the farthest i'd like to go on a stretch.

These should give you an idea on the stretch of the tire on the wheel widths you mentioned (disregard the offsets)

i think the brand tire makes a difference as well as some are better for stretching than others.
your wheels look good btw. look forward to seeing the end result.

adjust your camber first to see how much poke you want, then figure tires from there

Fronts should be fine with a 235/35 or 245/35.
Rears on the other hand... You gotta stretch.
19x11 -10 is tough to fit without stretching...

Spec's updated for clarification

I've had suggestions of a 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear setup

With your 9.5 +0 front and the rear at 11 +1, the rear is 9mm wider than the front. No need for a spacer out back. Not to mention, who cares about handling in your application, obviously you don't.

245/35 front
275/35 rear, then use spacers to get the flushness you want after your rear camber is set.

i'd just do 5mm in the rear so you could fit a 275/35 without pulling the hell out of your fenders or needing to add too much camber.

on my z i had 20mm narrower track in the rear than the front and i didn't notice any more understeer than when the track was 15mm wider than the front.

@terrasmak - Yea these rims are just for show and some weekend driving. My stock nismo's with the re-11's are the track rims i use whenever i wanna drive fast.

*edit*

Terrasmak, can you explain how the rear is wider than the front without putting on a rear spacer? When we tested fitted and compressed the springs, the front seemed to stick out further than the back did until i put the spacer on. I do not have a pic though of the rear without the spacer but if you could just break it down cuz visually, it seems the front is out more. I'll try to find out if my buddy took a pic of the rear without the spacer to show what i mean. Tryin not to sound noob-ish but seeing is believing

Typically the Z runs an 18x8 +30 front and rear Equal , or an 18x8 front +30 and 18x8.5 +33 rear slightly wider track. Take the numbers you have, insert them into an offset calc and view the difference. Very simple, very easy.

The front does have a little less room then the rear.
I would shoot for maybe 20mm wider track in the rear.
Wider rear track will increase understeer.
Camber setting front to rear has a huge influence on understeer/oversteer.

If my rims originally, rays, were 18x9 and 19x10 stock, would the same still apply above? I never had the 18's since my z was the nismo

Offset calc is great, http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp your stock setup the rear wheels stuck out 13mm further than the fronts.

Ill have to check that link out when I get off school. Right now it seems 245/275 is the choice but I have been told I could do 255/285 if I do not go any lower
