Default Front tires for the Z

I need new front tires on my Z and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Right now I have the stock potenzas in the front and in the back a pair of Falken ziex ze 912s. The tread life isn't so good on the falkens so I was looking to go with something else this time.

Hankook V12 EVO...can't be beat for price&overall performance.
Not a good idea to mix tire brands on your car!

Tires have a wear rating. Although not an exact science a 400 rated tire will give about twice the number of miles as a 200 tire. CR also does real world treadlife testing.

Expect the car to have a split personality front/back, especially in the rain, if you decided to mix tires.

I would also suggest the same tire front/rear.

Check our the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

AS the others have said I'd keep the same on front and rear. I had different brand names on the front of my '05 back in the day as I had a blowout and Discount didn't have what I had on the back in stock. I regretted it every single time it would even sprinkle. It also seemed to never be aligned correctly.

^ Agree with everyone else, keep em the same. Had a bad experience one night running a grippy tire in the rear with a so-so front. Dont learn the hard way!

Mix and match who cares, as of 2 weeks ago my car finally has matching tires. First time in 3 years. Funny he is complaining of a POS crappy Falken with a 360 treadwear wearing out fast, and people are suggesting stick tires that will wear out a lot faster.

I have run tires from different manufacturers and did not experience any problems. Of course you mix front to rear and not side to side. You should also stay with the same class of tire (e.g., summer performance, all season etc.).

Never mind. I thought this was important. Important enough to say “thanks” or simply reply.

I doubt that Almir received the information he needs to make a decision here, Heck, we cannot even agree on whether or not you need to have the same tires front and rear.

I don’t understand why you think he should thank us for a question that goes unanswered.
