Default traction trouble..street tires or track tires?

The 350z has a lot of torque and is very hard to get traction if you drive it at all aggressively. the back end wants to drift when taking turns fast, the front tires break lose when i brake hard at all down hill, and it burns out unsafely through first and second if near 4k rpm.
I know the car should be running a wider setup than a 225/245. but will a real wide good street tire even be enough to get on it. Or should i just be on an R compound track tire all the time?

What street tires are great? nitto? the hankook v12? bfg potenza? toyo proxie?
and can you even drive on a track tire like toyo r888 and potenza re01's on a very light daily basis? or will they just wear instantly?

for someone like me that likes to drive a little enthusiasticly are street tires just crap due to the weight of this car? what should i do? I'll be getting 18x10's soon and need to figure out what to put on them for the street.

some info on what i want, 275 front, 295 rear, confidence in getting some G's in turns and a good launch. my car is an 06 z stock base model 6pd.

I don't know what kind of power you are making, but I am running 18x10 and 18x11 with 275/35 front and 295/35 rear BFG KDW2's and the traction is amazing compared to when I was running stock sized cheapo tires with my bolt on HR.

The standard 245/255 front and 275 rear is more than enough for aggressive street driving, and not much more is great for really pushing hard on the track.

I just put on some ADVAN AD08 (275) and they grip well, much better then the V12 I previously had on.

Running 255 front and 295 rear stockish NA motor for now. It's MORE than enough to reign all that in. also..try not to have a leadfoot. Smooth is always faster.

To be honest, I am willing to bet my stock LSD is giving up and I plan on going with an OS Giken 1.5 way diff and some 4.08 gears (I know the gears will hurt traction, haha!) and I am willing to bet the better diff and 295 tires will really help with hooking up

I'm not sure where to start with your question, you're all over the place

Read this post in the most commonly asked question thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/4936171-post42.html

Running track tires is not necessary, you just need a set of properly sized tires.

With 275's out back and my OS Giken diff i can pretty much use WOT out of any corner and have no traction issues. With the 285/35 Hankook RS3's i can get into the gas hard while pulling a serious G loading. The stickier the tires, the more you can ask of them mid corner and on exit.

There are a lot of variables that can affect your traction.

I went from 275/245 Michelin Pilots to 295/265 BF Goodrich KDW's. I have noticed cornering has improved . . . but straight line traction appears to be the same. I am now experimenting with different tire pressures.

RS3 is a faster tire, better is a relative term. Right now the RS3 is the in the top 3 for fastest street class tire (All depends on the actual car for what tire is faster) the NT05 is a good tire, unless your an experianced track junky you will never be able to push them to full potential.

Before buying tires check these test results: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ighlight=tires

You will find lots of variables above including price and tread life. Buy whatever suits your needs.
