Just want to share my thoughts about Onlinetires.com

I usually buy my tires at Discount Tires or at Les Schwab.
But I really don't wanna pay extra for their expensive installation and warranty. So I google and found Onlinetires.com

Did some search on their reviews and seems like the reviews are not very positive. One thing I learned from other buyers is, you'll need to email them before placing an order because they do not put their tires in out of stock status when back order.

But I decided to give it try since they have a new management and I would save about $80.

So I emailed them, making sure the tires I want are in stock.
Came out that the tires I want are not in stock and I am glad that I emailed them before placing an order, otherwise I may end up waiting for nothing.

Then I found another set of tires, confirmed they are in stocks, placed my orders and received the tires in 6 days, which is very fast shipping.

But then, I found that they have shipped the wrong size. I double check on my order receipt and I also checked the invoice shipped along with the tires. (making sure it's not my error). They have shipped me the wrong size. It is very upsetting. The tires shipped have a super big sticker on it and the sticker have 3 inches large number stating the size of the tires, which you can't miss.

So I have to ship them back and wait for another week or 2.

My conclusion is

1. If you want to save some $ and if you have time to wait. It may worth it to buy from them.

2. If you really need a set of new tires rush. Don't buy from them. Your life worth a lot more than the money you save.

I knew I need a set of tires soon, but because of this stupid error, I almost get myself kill. Had a flat tire on highway at a very dangerous spot. The shoulder lane was so narrow. Cars were passing by me 70mph and 1 foot away from my head while I was changing the tire. Glad that an officer was helping me, having his emergency lights on.

 

If a retailer sent me the wrong size tires I would give them a failing grade.

Free Shipping. Hopefully the transaction will go smoothly.

 

I recommend tirerack.com. Never had a problem and get my tires in two-three days everytime.

Its always a hit or miss with online tires.

 

Worst experience with them. Sent me Out Of Round Tires. Had to pay mount dismount 2x on my dime. They replaced the tires but it was a costly experience + my time taking of work to deal with this crap ..

 

i've ordered a couple sets of tires from them. the first time there were no issues. the second time they sent me 275/30r19's instead of 235/35r19's. i don't even understand how they can make such a mistake. luckily the customer service was good and they paid for them to be shipped back and replaced with the correct size. i think they must have idiots working in their shipping and receiving department or something.

Onlinetires promised me to ship me the correct size tires when they see the movement of the returns. Fedex have picked up the tires on 1/12/2012. They didn't ship the tires until I emailed them today (1/20/2012). I am so disappointed with this company. I feel so regret not believing the feedback I read. This company have no system at all. And their shipping kill the deal.

I bought another set of tires at Discount Tire Direct on 1/19/2012. It looks like this company have more organized system and free shipping. And I am seeing my tires are coming this Tuesday. I bet I would receive these tires way earlier than those from Onlinetires.com

 

Received my tires from Discount Tire Direct. I am very satisfy with their service. Onlinetires.com is off my list.
