what do ya think about mounting those on stock nismo rims?

The fronts will not be an issue, though a 40 series is pretty tall. I think I've heard of someone doing a 305 out back as well, but a 295 would probably be a safer bet.

Why are you trying to run such a wide set of tires? If you aren't making really big amounts of power or participating in racing like autocross with very tight turns, all they are going to do is slow you down with added rotational mass. On top of all of this, you'd be running with 40mm difference in tire contact patch between the front and rear, which would result in higher than normal amounts of understeer. I understand the desire to have beefy tires, but that is overkill. My 285 Hankook V12's out back already have a fair amount of bulge and look aggressive as-is.

 

40 series up front is stock. The better question is why go with a 30 in th rear? I'd stick with a 265/40/18 up front and a 285/35/19 in the rear.

 

You want to put a 305mm tire on a 10.0 inch wheel? That will look real cool.

 

Front tire is taller than rear. Have you put much thought into this?

 

ohhh...am I in a big trouble??? never imagined front tires would be actually higher than rear...i just got my tires in today...what should I do...?

 

Like I said, why would you go with a 30 series tire on the rear? Makes no sense IMO.

you clearly don't understand how aspect ratios work. A 30 series on a 305 is almost as tall as a 35 series on a 285. A 40 series on a 265 is taller than a 40 series on a 245.

 

Are you lowered and/or have your fenders rolled? I have the Grand Touring wheels and I run 245/40/18 and 275/35/19. Have 15mm Front spacers (Perfectly flush), and 20mm Rear spacers (sticks out 5mm past fender). Dropped on Tein S Techs (-.7" Front -.6" Rear). Had to have rear fenders rolled due to the spacers. Front didn't need roll because the tires aren't that big, but I do think 265 may be pushing it.

Also, if your front tires are taller than your rears, it'll screw with VDC I believe. Just keep that in mind.

 

I have 07 NISMO and my nismo looks lower than normal nismo nut donno by how much.
I don't use spacers and have stock nismo wheel(18x9 +30, 19x10 +30)

 

You may be able to drive with VDC OFF
or
put proper tires on the car.

You probably want to drop down to a 295/30-19 rear , it is much better suited to your wheel. Next up front, either run a 265/35-18 or a 275/35-18 and you will have no problems.

 

On my 350z I have Volks Im running a 285/40/18
And to be honest I dont even like it feels like my car got slower
and its rubbing on the inside cause they are soo fat idk I would stick with 275 or 265 if your racing your car but if your al show then I guess it's ok to run a fat tire I suppose

What's your point? The size the OP stated were way off. (see Davidv's chart). A 305/30/19 is actually thinner then the stock 265/35/19. The OP asked for advice and I gave it to him. My advice was if he wanted beefier tires. But wanted to stay close to a stock ratio.

The 07/08 Nismo's came stock with TCS not VDC--agree on putting proper tires on!
