Question 275/35/19 or 275/40/19

I have seen a few people go with the 275/40/19 instead of the 275/35/19. What is the reason for this? Is their any advantage to this set up?

275/35/19 is the correct size for a 19" wheel (9.5" wide) to maintain the proper outer diameter of the wheel/tire combo. 275/40/19 would be an inch too tall. 275/40 is the proper size for an 18" wheel that is 9.5" wide.

yup the 275/40 is what we 18" guys need.

if you have seen anyone with the 275/40/19 they have affected their gearing negativly making the car slower to accelerate. the perk is you get the sidewall cushion as if they had 18" rims.
