Default My Forgestar and ModBargains Experience

Update

I have been contacted by Jurrian@modbargains and he has made an effort to make things right between Modbargains and me. Ultimately ModBargains is not in the business of making customers unhappy and I appreciate that they are willing to step forward and work with their customers. I have deleted the original post and am happy to move on.

Jurrian, if you read this, thank you for contacting me and I will be looking forward to future purchases with ModBargains.

Mods please close/delete the thread

Man.... Sorry for that. I've heard some bad reports on ModBargins before as well.

I had a GREAT experience with Deviate Motoring in Houston, Tx and HRE Wheels. Several HRE personnel kept me in the loop and even told me they were running about two weeks behind and yet still received my wheels in 8wks. I am a LOYAL HRE customer just because of the EXCELLENT customer service I received from them.

Wow, I was considering getting these exact same wheels but was worried about the wait. The 6 to 8 weeks wait time I believe I could manage, but 23 weeks? Sorry man, this happens all too much in the "custom" wheel game. Sometimes it's better to save yourself the hassle and just buy wheels already made. Good luck and hopefully someone steps up to try to make this right.

Depends on the manufacture.

yeah pretty common.. the following is just a bit to think about form anyne who might read the thread, not an argument to the OP.. sorry you had a bad deal.

FS. like many others, are in the business of making wheels w wait time.. they are selling product to make a living.. and probably a fairly meager one.
Men who buy 2k wheels generally make more than most of these folks we are dealing with as vendors.
so when they get orders, they dont say " are u suuure? We wont have the parts for awhile" lol.. no one tries to unsell their customers.. its shtty, but its the way it goes. You give them a general ETA and you bust your hump to try to make the wheels.. when thers issues, they should alert the vendor tho.. and more often than not, they just dont. Becuase when they do, they will be asked " well when WILL they be ready?" and the answer is usually 80% of the time.. " no clue".
So, why say anything at all right? Thats the story w most delays and "bad customer service" .. you dont get updates often when no one knows anything to update.

And as the wheel rep at MB selling you the wheel, they ( dealers) often dont get told the correcet info either and are getting sold just like you.. they get the " they will be approx 6-8 weeks" line just like you do.. Ive learned there are no cahoots in this biz.. when your shop tells you something different than the manufacturere, its becuase the manufacturer has been telling the shop something different ..

It sucks, but it is what it is.. this is simply your first go arounnd w it.

Its not WalMart, its custom parts.
While i believe it only takes one person to deliver stell ar customer service and that effort is generally free, the reality is that the industry is full of generally great people.. who are not paid what yo think they may be paid, who are answering 75% more phone calls each day about stuff that will never turn into a sale.. are getting shopped to death over every ebay vendor, etc etc.. point being is that we just cant expect the same cusotmer service out of tuner shops and parts dealers as we do when we call the 800 number on our credit card.. and i think thats what weve come to expect.
I agree that there ARE shops however that understand that all it takes is to offer great customer service on every sale.. but to be honest, even they have issues now n then.. its the numbers game.
The issue here sounds far more like it is Forgestar, not Modbargains.. and yes, forgestar is very solid about making cusotmers deal w thier vendors.. to be honest most companies in the world are very much like that. They are not in the business of making theirdealers look like fools.

So , what did we learn? Whenever you want to buy something, check the manufacturer before hand to verify if they have the stock. Its always your best bet. Its not a guarantee, but its a smart move. And alwasy doube your wait times quoted, on builds, wheels, aeros etc. There is alot in the mox that can cause delays.. if you cant wait double the time, reconsider your part choice.

Im not sayng its ok, but it simply how it is and is 99% common, aside from dpe apparently lol. ^ .

Hi Row2k,

Gilbert is no longer with the company, but I was made aware that your situation is getting personally taken care of by his manager. We will make this right for you!

I had a similar holdup with Forgestar. Nowhere near as long though. My total wait time was about 8-9 weeks when I was told 4-6. My major complaint was that I solely relied on false weights published on the Forgestar website. I was very unhappy about that and now I'm stuck with wheels that are heavier than what I wanted.

On the positive...as for the distributor, I had one of the best buying experiences with Howey Industries. I dealt only with Paul and he made the buying experience (even with the delay) rather enjoyable.

Wow - thats just the opposite of my experience buying my F-14's from them last year. Couldn't have gone better. Placed my order and picked them up a few weeks later. Bummer your having issues with them.
