thinkin about lowerin the car a little, mostly for looks, but any performance advantage would b cool. lookin at the tein s-tech's on ebay. don't really want to do anything else than put these on, let them settle for a few weeks, and then go get an allignment done. i should b cool, right? would there b another brand that would b a better standalone mod? lookin at around 150-160 shipped. thanks, guys.

 

Show - I'm after the same thing so I went with the Tein High Techs. They don't drop much ( 0.6 F / 0.3 R ) on the coupe but here in Louisiana our roads truly s***! Hop-Up Racing has
them on sale for $165 + S&H. It'll be another few weeks or so before I install mine as I'm waiting for the Wilwood brake kit to be delivered so that I can do it all at once. I HOPE this slight drop will still allow the camber to be set up properly but that seems to vary from G to G.

 

Besides price, there are two other things you should compare when buying springs. Amount of drop and spring rate. On thing I have noticed is that just about every aftermarket spring is softer that stock and they remove more spring rate from the rear than the front which will increase understeer.

I personally went with the RSR springs since I want a modest amount of drop (15mm) and the spring rates are the exact same as stock, which is stiffer that pretty much every other spring I've seen.

So, if your looking for something that gives you a performance gain, its doubtful you will find it in springs softer than stock.
