does anyone have experience with these
Hey guys (and gals),
I did some forum searching to try to get all questions figured but sadly I am at work and am starting to get that "should actually be working not trolling feeling".
I am in need of new wheels - currently have 20inch TSWs that came with my car and although they look pretty sweet they are not practical because the car will see a few track days and autocross days this year and I think they weigh 1 trillion pounds each. I cant find out which wheels they are but they've got like a 4 inch lip and are pretty freaking heavy. My intro post has a picture. Anyways... these are 255x20 285x20 I don't know offset or anything but the rears are like mega close to rubbing
I have 3 ads I am looking at in my local area here Vancouver
one is
1.19" set of Rays from a 370z, these seem to fit and look pretty good and are inexpensive but not my first choice, I think these are 23 lb each
2. 17x9 RPF1 staggered 225/245 +45 offset - I have been debating getting 17's because of tire cost and my imagination of how massive the handling should change. I have read around that having a +45 will create a possible rub situation, but these are also skinnier than my wheels by a bit, but have no idea what I currently have. I read these are like 16 lbs each (but smaller so that's why)
3. weds sport sa55m rims 5x114.3 18x9 +20 are the other option. these look good, have a decent weight rating and seem to be proven, although I don't know much about them. at +20 I don't expect any rub. The downside is 18' tires will make a cost difference but I think its only a couple hundred per set. I have read these are 19.5 lbs each
so my question, if you were nice enough to make it this far - is for the same price, which of these would be the best wheel? Function and handling are my priority with sexiness being second. I have a daily so comfort and stuff are irrelevant lol. The car was also lowered by about 1" with eibach pros, that was before I got it also.
Thanks for any input, sorry if I could have searched this and sorry if its in the wrong section

The RPF-1s would likely be your best option here. Depending on what brake option is on your Z, you'll need spacers up front and likely better, longer wheel studs to match. But why limit yourself to just these ads? Are you in a hurry to go to an autocross or track day at this time of year? Save up a bit more and get a new set of forged 18" wheels and tires- if you're just starting out, that option is probably your best bet for tire selection, performance and value for a track day setup.
great answer, thanks. Currently running the stock Brembos.
any recommendation. Not really in a rush, I guess just getting excited - its like 14 degrees daily here in Vancouver. mega mild winter.

any reason why not 17's?
I know some people say they good for track, some say 18's is better.
is it aesthetics or performance? 18's would look better
nvm searched thanks

17's is fine for track. But, unless you're going to have 2 sets of wheels OR you're ok with riding low, 18's are better imo (even though I ride slammed). 18's are also a more common tire size these days so tires are more readily available. It's really not a HUGE difference to be honest. I think, overall, 18 just gives you a good track wheel and aesthetic without sacrificing. It's hard to keep 17's from looking like spare tires and you don't save enough weight to make it worth it imo.
