Default I am new to this thread.

Hi everyone i have a 2008 nissan 350z. I have a base model and i am trying to transform my car but this is a slow process. i just painted my rims black gloss, (stock rims)

what should i do next?

this is my daily driven car, but i work down the street so its no big deal.

I replaced all 4 of my tires i have mitchlein brand and now i have 2 front fixed rims and all rims painted gloss black.

Should i get coil overs? thats what I'm thinking about doing next besides getting some a new brake system.

Sounds like your happy with the stock painted wheels, just get a set of spacers and drop springs if you have a small budget

You didn't specify a goal at all so how can we help you choose what's "next"?

Unless you just wanted us to throw out suggestions?

Coilovers are always good.

Hello and welcome to my350z.com... You have new tires and newly painted rims that you are happy with, so it is time to consider your next upgrade. You mention brakes and coilovers ; look at the subforum Brakes and Suspension (that is immediately below the Wheels and Tires subforum you are now in.

Are you interested in replacing or upgrading your current brake setup? You only need to replace your brakes if they are worn; you don’t need to upgrade the excellent OEM brakes unless you plan to track your car (or you live on a mountain side, or in Laguna Beach or San Francisco).

Coilover suspension systems are wonderful, but you need to be a wise buyer. I really think an inexpensive coilover suspension is junk. If you decide upon a coilover system, be prepared to spend significant $$’s for the purchase and time doing the research. You will need additional suspension components (costing you more $$) to do this correctly. Once you get this installed, you need to learn how it’s adjusted and how you make the settings. Suspension 101 in the Sticky Threads under Brakes & Suspension is a great start to learn about coilovers (or the Z’s suspension for that matter).

I think you should define your goals (what you want from the car). Once you do this, you create your upgrade plan.

Please post back to this (your) thread if you have additional questions. There are a lot of people reading here who will gladly help you make decisions on your upgrades. If you decide you want to upgrade your brakes and/or suspension, start a new thread in the Brakes and Suspension subforum (just below here).

One thing I love about the Z is that there are so many upgrade options for the car.

Hey everyone, I really appreciate your replies.
Im 23 years old i work 2 jobs, i am forutnate to have saved up some money to be able to even paint my wheels black (been wanting to do that since i bought my z 3 years ago)..

I would like to upgrade to brembo brake system. I have searched everywhere to see if i can find use/remanufactorred brembo brake calipers for my 2008 350z and i havent found any... I need your help guys..

I want to focus more on the "looks" of my car right now, some may not agree but i believe i have made my decision.

I will def get spacers, if u have any reccomendations please send them to me.

I want to upgrade my brake system to brembros, ill buy the brake lines no problem, i just need help to find 4 calipers..

then after that ill focus on getting some springs....

im excited to be on this forum!

Well, since you're in Maryland, the first thing you need to do is get a winter beater so you don't have to drive the Z year round.

Once you have that locked down, grab you a pair of inexpensive coilovers. You're not tracking the car. THAT'S pretty obvious. BC Racing, D2, Stance, hell, even Megan will get you to the level where you need to be at a nice affordable price. I would recommend getting front and rear camber arms so you can adjust things. But, just remember, toe wears tires. Camber wears tires UNEVENLY. There's a difference...a HUGE and measurable difference. All of that stuff can be acquired through our market place.

So, now we gotchu sitting right. Time to move on to footwork. If you're confused about "what to do" next, explaining offset to you, especially in relation to tire sizes and what's needed in terms of body work, is going to be like explaining quantum theory neuron combustion and nucleus fusion to C-student in a public high school in the inner city of any midsized metropolitan area (and I'm honestly not even sure you can combust neurons but the premise seems feasible). My suggestion would be lurk the wheels for sale subforum, find a Z you like, buy those wheels. Not that painted stock wheels aren't the shiz or nothing, but painted stock wheels are NOT the shiz. Also, be sure to get name brand wheels. While I've never actually SEEN this happen nor ever experienced it personally, whenever you put replica wheels on Z's, they crack, causing the tire to explode, and the force from the explosion sends your car into a school bus full of photogenic blonde haired white children with special needs. Again, I've never actually seen it or experienced it, but check the board. There's like a million threads on the dangers of "fake"/replica wheels.

Alright, so the important stuff is under control. Now you wanna move to exterior bits and interior upgrades. The only proven way to Kill Da Game is with flares. A time tested and proven formula for said flares is Rocket Bunny. How awesome is it that you are entering this car at a time when Tra Kyoto has just released a kit for the 350Z. It's a lil pricey, but killin' da game always is. A solid bride zeta II seat and aftermarket steering wheel (my personal favorite is grip royal...made in USA...Tennessee to be exact...great group of folks...lotta custom options) set off the interior. I wouldn't recommend a harness just because you need a harness bar that sits level with your shoulders to connect the straps to. To install that, you need to cut into the plastic behind the seat (on the sides). You could always bolt it to the floor like a jack-wagon, but don't be a jack-wagon.

That should get you on the right path.
