Default Tire size input

Well I'm in need of rear tires and am not sure what to go with. Previously I went with 225/50r17 all around and this time I am thinking maybe I should get wider tires for the rear. What would you guys here suggest if I have 225/50r17 on the front? Wider or same size again? I am currently running 04 OEM wheels as well.

I dont want any issues with TCS or anything (yes I did read the thread on here about it)

Just need suggestions.

thanks

235/50-17 or 245/50-17 would not hurt out back

245/50-17 will be ~3/4" larger in diameter, while a 255/45-17 will only be ~1/8" larger in diameter. Anyone used that combination? It will give you less speedo error and should work fine with the TCS.

Why would you go with a smaller width rear tire than stock?!

It's only an 8 inch wide rear wheel. 235/50-17 is stock , 245/50 is slightly taller , well within parameters and the wheel is just wide enough for it.

You could probably find some nice oem 18s with tires for a relatively low price. If you need new tires Its a perfect time to upgrade.

So true, especially if you are considering brake upgrades at some point.

On the flip side 17"s do keep the cost of new rubber down.

if I could afford that I would. Unfortunately I can't.

im having a hard time deciding between 245/50r17 or 255/45r17

would the 255/45r17s have any issues on the OEM 04 wheels? Dumb question, but I'd rather ask than make a mistake.

i appreciate the help guys.
