Wheel and tire fitment
Hey all, first post here so forgive me if the format is incorrect. Im trying to figure out what wheels and tires to go for but i have a catch. Legal height here in aus is 100mm. So im trying to fill the fenders as much as possible and would like to keep the car handling well as i do lots of mountain runs and would like to track my boosted z. I cant decide between running 18's or 19's and not sure what offsets to go with. Im thinking of going 18x9.5 +15 front with 255/40/18 and 18x10.5 +18 275/40/18 but im not sure how thatd sit. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Why?
Still going to use 255 and 275 widths but they'll be 35 aspect ratio to maintain same height/diameter. Net result: Won't fill any more or less than 17s, 18s with correct tires.
And with that said and being what looks like an issue, why is this even a question of 18 v. 19? Answer already seems to exist.

As Travlee mentions, the sizes and offsets you mention are excellent. And Mic's advice to go with a 35 aspect ratio gives the same fitment if you mount 19" wheels (keep the wheel offsets and the tire tread widths the same).
RE> "The dilema [sic] is that i'd like to run an aggressive setup with rays 57dr's and im [sic] not too sure if going 19's would affect performance or not."
19" wheels with the tires will have more un-sprung weight than the 18" wheels with tires. The cost will be a minor loss of acceleration. Handling is often better with 18" wheels, but much depends upon the tires you mount and your suspension (springs and dampers). Many people prefer the appearance of 19" wheels over 18" wheels. Some owners run 18" wheels on the front (with 40 aspect ratio) and 19" wheels on the rear (with 35 aspect ratio). The Enkei thread is one of the best here when researching wheels, offsets, and tire sizes.

Yeah I just cant find any decent tires for the 18" wheel setup that wont cost an arm and a leg. 255/40/18 and 275/40/18 are hard sizes to find here in aus. Im pretty much restricted to pilot super sports

Ohhhhhh..... you were talking about the 18s being expensive. Yep. There isn't as big of a selection in 18" anymore - which just blows me away. But anyhow, I run 19s exclusively (meaning, that's all I own these days). And while it's true that 19s CAN HAVE a higher unsprung weight overall, if you select carefully, you can get a set of 19s with lighter tires that won't give you a handling or acceleration penalty. Case in point, my 19" forged LMZ5 (S-Tune) wheels with 245/35 & 275/35 only weigh 1.2# (total weight per corner) than my 18" RPF1 and Sumitomos with 245/40 and 275/40 (43.5# vs 41.3#) and the 35% sidewall of the 19s gives me just as much turn-in sharpness as the 18s.
Sadly I think I'm just going to have to accept that an 18" wheel setup will just be too expensive. Its hard to find good looking light wheels in 19" that arent horrifically expensive. Will probably end up with kiwamis and federal rsrr's
