Unhappy feathering on new tires & rims???

I got new 19inch wheels and tires but I have not put them on yet because i think i do have that feathering problem with the stock tires...... So...

1. Would the feathering problem hurt my new tires as well??
2. What do i need to do before putting them on to prevent this from happening???

Thanks

1. Yes; and

2. Get a 4 wheel alignment, if the camber isn't in the acceptable range, you need to buy camber adjustable parts. Look in the vendor section for them. Do you have your car dropped? If yes again, you need camber rods in the rear.

I also just ordered 19" wheel/tire package. I had the toe fixed at the dealershi* with my stock 17", supposedly fixing the feathering problem. Do I need to do anything else for my new 19" to ensure this problem doesn't come back.?

From what I understood, wheels and tires had no effect on the toe.

Thanks,
JasZ

Right, changing wheels doesn't change to toe enough to make a difference. Dropping the car changes the camber angle, so you need to re-align it.

Alignment of the car has rarely, if ever, completely stopped the feathering. Alignment doesn't change a DAMN thing most of the time!!!

Possibly. I had beginning wear on the outside of the tread on the front at 1600 miles. My problem was way too much toein, instead of everybody else's(almost) inside wear caused by too much toeout, it appears. It was aligned, 4 wheels, and I have 6600 miles and a slight beginning wear on the left front from my new tires put on w/alignment. It will be aligned again, all 4 wheels and I'll monitor it at 3-4000 miles. Alignment worked in my case, but it was 4 wheel alignment, not 2 wheels.

Boomer, when the tires feathers on the outside, do they make the same loud growls like when they feathers on the inside?

I never found out. When I took off the OE tires at 1600 miles, the wear was only the beginnings of a shadow indicating a wear pattern was emerging. Very few of us had the wear on the outside, the vast majority of the wear was on the inside.
