Default impressions on running 255s 18"s F+R

wondering how many are running 255s 18"s all the way around. My 19's are a bit too much for circuit runs, looking to get some 18" wheels and would like to hear impressions of those that have/are running 255s on all fours, pics would be great if you could share.

Thanks

No pics here but I reccomend it just from what I have heard. I wont give you the whole "eliminate understeer speech" because you spend time on this forum, but i know others speak well of equalizing the tire width and I know you can run 255 on either 7.5 or 8.5 18" front stockers or 18*8.0/8.5 tracks, allthough your front tires will look like they got fat from gorging themselves on pavement!

Jousts analysis= Track value good.... Bling Value

hopefully the 14" stoptechs and choosing the front offset wisely will distract the eye from the "fat" appearance and maintain some bling value even on the track.. my HREs will still cruise the streets..

I run 245-18 Goodyear F1s all around on my touring model. To achieve the required stagger (.5 to .75) I have 40 series in the front and 45 series in the rear. The stagger maintains the effectivness of ABS, VDC etc. (search stagger on this forum for more info). I ran in the Willow Springs event a couple of weeks ago and the car had less understeer than with the stock 225 front and 245 rear. I took 6 seconds off my previous best lap!

many thanks for the driving impression at willow springs, enjoyed that course when i was out in cali. I turn off the TCS during all my track runs (don't have VDC) and would love to disable it permanently if I could.

As for the stagger, I been fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with the person who would know and from that I'm not at all concerned about running exactly same tire all the way around, the system is designed to detect meaningful differences and allows for variances from stock sizes to occur due to uneaven wear and tear (especially a reduction in the size of the rears). But then again I'm not running the same tires just yet so have no real world experience and just the word of somebody.

Thank your for the above post. I see all to many G35 sedan owners using or talking about going to a stagered setup. I tell them theirs no way I'd run a narrow tire on the front of my car and that's for a reason. 6 seconds in ONE lap is that kind of a reason. As soon as the 245's on the front wear out, I'll put on 255's in the front (I just put on the new 255 rears).
