Hello Everyone,
I went to purchase new 18" rims today and was told that the rims i want only come in 18 inch width and that they do not have a 18.5 inch width for the rear tires and they did recommend the rims because the would be inset by half an inch. This does not really bother me at all, my question will this harm performance in anyway or will it be simply visual?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jesse

Sorry, pretty much the stock rims in the rear are .5 inches wider then the front rims. The rims i want to get only have one width which would make the rims the same size on front and rear. Just trying to find out if from a performance standpoint if that would make a difference.
Thanks, sorry bout the confusion.

it depends on the size/weight of the wheel/tires... what rims + tires are you getting, and what size... be sure not to get ripped off and check on this forum w/ people before you go out and get them
*p.s. which stock rims do you have?

I have the 6 star 18 inch rims that came with the new touring z that i got yesterday.
The rims that i am looking at getting are these

I love the look of them. But definately seeking advice. They say the 17inch will work on the 350z but i want the 18's.

He means that they are 18x8 all around instead of 18x8.5 all around.
Zinthekeys, the wheels are 8 inches wide not 18 inches wide. They are 18 inches in diameter. And yes, you can use them. I prefer having the same size wheels and tires all around but you could still do a slightly narrower front tire even with same size wheels. For example a 235/40-18 in the front and 245/40-18 in the rear would work.
edit: I just clicked on the link. I don't think you should get these wheels (and not because they are the wrong size). But hey, it's your money and your car, so do what you want!

Def. check the gallery out. A lot of the people on this site have great looking wheels that match the personality of the Z a lot better. Theyre also really expensive and almost all look the same but Im in agreement with the others, those are interesting but it would just be wrong to put them on a Z.
