Default Question about these rims im gonna get Help!!

Hey whats up guys, im not an offset master and i looked at the faq but it didnt make much sense to me so heres my questions.

How would a rim that is 18 x 8.5 with a +45 offset look on the Z ? And, would i be able to fit any big brake kits on it, what size would be able to go?

Thats it, Thanx to those in advance who help and please let me know ur opinions!!

Your friend,

Bryan

Hi Bryan, I am also no master at offset but after searching this site in an attempt to get the correct offset for new wheels I kinda understand it like this. The higher the offset number ie. +45 means that the wheels will be inside the fenders or closer to the body. As the number decreases past stock offset (30 or so depending on trim) ie. +22 means the wheels will be pushed out awya from the fenders.

Take a look at the wheels gallery. Wheels with 20's and 30's offsets look cool, high offset wheels pull them towards the fenders and look whack and also leave no space for big brake upgrades. If you get the whels, I guess you could use spacers to push the wheels away from the car though.

With an 8.5" wheel on the front you would want a wheel with about a +25mm offset. +45mm would be way tucked in. No big brakes in there.

unless i used a spacer right ??^^^^

And putting a spacer on just to move it back to normail offset or maybe a little more than normal wouldnt put too much stress on the lugs would it, becuase it would be back to normal, as opposed to pushing them further out than normal ??

You can use a spacer but you will have to get the NISMO long hub bolts. And yes a spacer will stress the lugs more. However, a lot of people run spacers in Autox with no problem.
