Ok, someone said that the diameter of the tire (obviously the rim doesn't, unless it changes the tire diameter) doesn't affect the contact patch, assuming tires of the same width. This is incorrect because of a tire's natural flattening at the bottom (where it contacts the ground), due to the weight of the car. A larger diameter tire will flatten a bit more due to the larger diameter causing smaller angles at the point where the tire meets the ground. It's pretty easy to visualize it. The amount of contact patch enlargement is probably minor and also will depend on the air pressure in the tires, and so is not a reason to go bigger, since the change in gearing and weight would undoubtedly affect the car much more than the contact patch change would.

just get black nismo LMGT4 and slamm it and it will cloak the sizing because it will be hard to see where the tire ends and the wheel begins and also it you slamm it there is no problem. Depends on your color, i have le mans now you know my secretroute i am planning on taking.

Actually I'm in SeaTac. Advanced Auto Design Inc. (253) 333-7274 out of Auburn is doing most of the work on my car. They do primarily upper end SUV's & Hummers for some of the big sports names. Mine was the first import they worked on. They put it in the HIN import auto show on May 1 in the Seahawk Stadium convention center.

18's or 19's and drop the car, it will look much better than 20's imo

Definitely some helpful information provided by both sides of the argument.

I'm a bit shocked there are soo many people who dislike 20's on a Z. Oh well, to each their own.

Ill just go ahead and post some pics of 20's on my Z, with stock brakes. Yea, I know I need BBK, I am accepting donations if anyone wants to be critical. I could care less if the 20's take away from performance. I drive this car pretty frequent, not necessarily a daily. We don't have race cars guys. The 20's look amazing, and I don't care what anyone thinks. The overall diameter is within a few tenths of stock wheels and weight is same as stock front and rear are like 6 lbs more per wheel. Its not that much to worry about. Everyone has their own opinion, likes, and dislikes, do what you like best not what other people like. On that note since it looks like this thread is dead i will leave it with some beautiful images.
