Use something mild and MAKE SURE your wheels are COOL before you spray ANY wheel cleaner on them.

Eagle One All Wheel Cleaner A2Z was rated as the top wheel cleaner by Guru Reports.

Maguiers Detail Spray. I use it on everything...including the wheels...gives it a nice fresh shine as well.

I completely agree. I have never used ANY wheel cleaner on my car but he asked so I answered. I guess if you've kept them clean from the start there would be no need but if they are really dirty you may need something a bit more heavy duty.

I use Z-7 carwash and I apply Zaino to them just like any other part of the car. Mine are pretty clean. Also, I don't recommend using a brush on the wheels. Just use a rag. The brushes that are aggressive enough to wash the wheels with may leave scratches.

I have experimented with the many different wheel cleaners available throughout the years and some will "haze" your wheels. IMO Castrol and Dupont wheel cleaners work the best.

I took my moms wheels off her car the other day to give them a thorough cleaning, but they were too dirty for me to just scrub all the brake dust off. I was thinking of using a cleaner/degreaser to get them clean. you guys think that would work? would it be harmful to the finish of the wheel or anything?

Agree. I never used any cleaners on my Z yet (1.5 year). Just a car shampoo + water + old sock to wash them. Afterwards I spray thin layer of Maguire (sp?) spray wax on them, so next time dust come off easily again.
