Default What would be the best tires for performance?

I was wondering what tire would be best performance wise as traction so when going to drag strip I will get max traction?
Nitto555
Toyo T-1
BF Goodrich g-Force KDW
Goodyear Eagle 1
Falken
or others

I would go with the T1s, KD, or Eagle 1s. Personally I have had great success with the T1s, although I have not tried the KDs or Eagle 1s. I know several who track their cars and have had good experiences. The T1s are used as the rain tire for SCCA Pro Speed World Challenge cars, so I think its pretty good. I know the KDs are not good in the rain, I don't know about the Eagles. The guys that I know that run Eagles have Z06 vettes and they don't like rain anyways.

well... mcclaskz makes good points for peopel who have to turn left and right... but at a drag stip none of those tires will give you much of an edge...

go get yourself some 15" wheels and Mickey Thompson drag slicks and you'll never have to worry about traction in a straight line

Not trying to get slicks. Trying to have something that will do good both on street and drag strip. On Tire Rack, they rank the BF Goodrich tires with good traction (9-10). I will probably go with the g-Force tires because they look more like slicks. There a step away from the g-Force streetable slicks they have. Only bad thing about it is how long will they last, 25000miles or more.

Check out BF-Gs drag radials, Nitto 555R (I would not recommmend them thoiugh) and Mickey Thompson's new street radials

They are all street legal and will hook like hell at the track

peace

For tires in the class that you are talking about... the BF Goodrich KDW's are the way to go... that is IMHO the best all weather tire listed...

now if I was going for a dry tire but still for street... Id say BG Goodrich KD...

track rubber... that is a whole other world...

I have run my KDW's on the track and they grip suprizingly well...

you can see the tread pattern in this pic...

I have T1S and my friend has Eagles... They both look alike, and perfromance in autocross seems to be the same (good). Toyos are way cheaper though!

KD, KDW and T1s are all awesome. I am still in love with the KDWs however; very grippy with decent treadlife, phenomenal in the rain as well.

Well, I just have experience with my Toyos, and I must say they are pretty great in the rain. With my stock tires on, I would always feel a bit uneasy in the rain, not true with the T1s, they inspire a lot of confidence. I assume SCCA is autocross, they are definitely hitting on something with the Toyos in the rain.
