Rear tires wear out in the middle , need help !
Both of the rear tires 275/40 pilot sports A/S wear out alot in the middle with 32 psi setting. Should I lower the pressure even more to 30 psi? thx for help.
it could be the width of the wheels that's causing the problem. At 275 you'd want to be running something around a 9.5" width. I know many have put 275's on much smaller widths but it can create a bulge in the middle of the tire leading to premature wear.
Have your toe-in checked on the rears. Any more than .08" (2MM) and it will do that. Trust me. I moved pressure up and down and went through four sets of rears before an independent (read: NOT Nissan) shop took a true measurement of my rear toe-in.
Center premature wear out is caused by tire mounted on to narrow of rim or overinflation, PERIOD!!
Burning off alot will cause a little more wear in the center but not too much.
Toe-in and camber issues will show up as edge wear.

My toe-in has always been in spec, and both sets of rear tires I've owned have prematurely worn in the center. I've always attributed this to overinflation, but even after I've lowered the psi, I haven't noticed a major change in the wear patterns. That being said, I can say that the rear tires will heat up about 2psi hotter when up to temp than the front tires, so I normally keep my rear tires 2psi lower than the fronts while cold.
1st set of rear tires: 37psi cold, lasted less than a year
2nd set of rear tires: 31-32psi cold, better wear, but still wears the center out since at the track the tires will get up to about 42psi.

I just notice today that one rear tires worn out more than the other in the middle and also it worn out unevently. Some middle spot are pretty much have nothing left, some still have a little, what could cause this? I dont do burn out just turn corner fast sometime.
