Hi,

I'm trying to find out the weights of the various Volk Wheels models. I'm primarily interested in 18" size, but would also be interested in 19" weights as well (out of curiosity).

I've got my wheel choice narrowed down between Nismo LMGT4's, Volk TE37, or Gram Lights.

The Nismo's are only 18 lbs each, which is pretty light!

Also, is there any info out there of the weights of various tires as well?

Any input would be appreciated!

The ones i checked were all 26 to 30lbs ..too heavy! Overpriced...Go with something under 20lbs like the Nismos, OZ, or BBS
They shure look good though,,SF challenge are tough lookin

 

i dont know bout individual weight but my 19x8.5 le37t's on 245/35 toyo t1-s weigh 44lbs and 19 x9.5 on 275/35s weigh 50lbs

 

the main differance lies in 2-piece or 1-piece.

the 1-piece forged monoblocs are significantly lighter than the 2-piece gt-series such as the gt-c, gt-7, gt-u, etc..

 

te37 and le37t are about the same weight as nismos. about 17lb/19lb

 

I have 18x8.5(FR) LE28N's with Goodyear GS-D3's - 245/40 combo weighed ~43 lbs. 18x9.5(R) with 275/40 weighed ~46 lbs. I'm not sure how much the rim itself weighed but the tires were a lot heavier. Hope this helps.

Just weight the SF Challenge 9.5 at 27lb and 10.5 at 28lbs. Hope that help. oh, and they are 19's.

Tire weights for 245/40-18 & 275/40-18 sizes:
Toyo F/R - 24/28 pounds
Goodyear F/R - 25.7/28.9 pounds
Pole Position S03 F/R - 28/33 pounds

 

yeah, I could have told you Toyo's were the lightest tires out there... TE-37's w/ Toyo's in 18's will shave quite a few unsprung pounds as well as greatly improve the handling of the car... I vote for Mercury Silver TE-37's for your silverstone....

T1S = awesome street tires. I just wish they made larger sizes in 19s. Hopefully the T1S replacement coming this fall will have 285/30 or 295/30.

Good thread -- not many realize the importance of tire weight (more important than wheel weight)

 

Anyone know the weight of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s in 18" with 245s and 275s? Thanks in advance.
