Question Does anyone have 255/40/18 in front?

I have done a search, but could not find an answer for my specific setup.

I have new 18" wheels coming in:
Front 8.5" > offset=35
Rear 9.5" > offset=35
I am not changing my suspension, but I would like to go with wider tires.

Since I do not want my speedometer or VDC affected, the perfect size to maintain the exact same diameter (according the the tire calculator at http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) is:

255/40/18 front
275/40/18 rear

I know the rear has been done before. I could not find anyone who had 255/40/18 in the front though.

Is anyone running that size in front? Will it fit?

dude people have even put 275's in the front. 255 is not a problem.

275s with a +30 offset upfront has been proven to work, so with your 5mm offset difference, you still should have enough room for 255s, even 265s.

Thanks for the feedback. If you want to see the unmounted rims, take a look at my other thread:

your vdc will be screwed up. tire dia must stay the same or as close to stock as possible.

If you check the first link I posted to the tire calculator, you will see that I specifically picked that size because they would be EXACTLY the same diameter as the stock 225/45/18.
