Default Trading Track Rims/Wheels??

Hey All,
I have the chance to trade my Track Rims (perfect condition) and stock tires with 23000 miles for a set of Gramlights 57 F with Yokohama Neova tires with about 8000 miles.

This deal is for my stuff plus $500. The tire sizes on the Yoko's are 245/40/18 and 275/35/18. I realize that the rear is shorter than it's suppose to be but I think this deal is too sweet to pass up.

My other issue is the color of the rims ... my car is Chrome Silver and the rims are bronze. Is it safe and/or recommended to powder coat rims to change the color? What are the issues with powder coating as far as durability etc? The deal, should I choose to do it, will happen tomorrow (8/25) so a few quick responses would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

That sounds like a really really really good deal man. Do you know the other party VERY well? AFAIK you can't even get Neova's in the states.

The "other party" is someone I work with. He bought this stuff for his Z from overseas (I don't know how) and has had them on his car for a few months. He ended up trading in his car for an EVO VIII because he needed a back seat. Anyway the dealer wants the stock rims and tires. The deal has already been made for the purchase of his new car so the money ($500) will be going in my co-worker's pocket not the dealer's.

I would try to get a straight accross trade. Both rims cost about the same.

I understand the cost being similar but the way I'm seeing it is that my tires need to be replaced anyway because of the milage I have on them. That would cost me more than the $500 that I'm paying for these. Plus the size of the tires I'd like (245's and 275's) are not recommended for the Track Rims. On another note that $500 is going into his pocket ... we are both Navy and anytime I can "help" out a junior sailor...

unless your coworker is a good friend, i dont see why he should pocket the 500

dealer wants the track rims
coworker wants the track rims to complete trade for evo8

you can do them both a favor

The deal for the EVO is already done and like I said I'm helping a young sailor out with some cash.

If things are that rough in the Army's ranks, maybe we should sit down and discuss cross decking, plus in the Navy you get to wear those really cool bell bottoms.
