Usually 2 piece wheels are welded together.

i would check with the mfr or where you bought them from just to make sure it is possible;
from what i understand, 2 piece wheels are made up of a 1-piece ring or wheel outer, with a center that is bolted in...
3-piece wheels are made up of 2 halves that make up the outer ring, with the center that also bolts in...
hope that helps...

Not really. If you look at the certain BBS, VOLKS, etc they are bolted onto the wheel. Some rims are welded on like the Boyds 2 piece. The wheel is heated then the face is inserted then its seam welded. But for Boostted he needs to get the wheels unbolted and when reassembled its important to torque them back to factory specs to keep the wheel true

I called a place recommended by glenn, they are 5 min from my house and they are cheap too. I gotta pick up the wheels from you next week or so.

Bump!

Trying to not start another thread about this. I know there are several others that have gotten their wheels pc'd.

I need to take my two piece volk gt-v's apart. Tires are still on them but i can deflate them.

1) Can i leave the tires on and still take the faces off? No air in the tires.
2) How important is it to keep the faces marked so they go back onto the same barrel in the same direction.
3) What kind of tq? Ive heard ~30ftlbs will do

1. I left my tires on the wheels, didnt need to deflate them even, since you aren't messing with the seals. The wheel barrel is once piece.

2. I don't think it matters that much, I didnt mark them its obvious which ones are the front and which are the rears, i just had the wheels balanced after i put them back together.
3. I used 27lbs and used loctite on the bolts, use the blue stuff not the red permanent stuff.

awesome man! thanks for responding.

I think im going to deflate them and then take them apart. Blue loctite is expensive! 5 bucks for a little bottle. Got to find some cheaper elsewhere!
