Wheel Studs? Nismo? WTF?
Anyone know what wheel studs will work on a 2003 Enthusiast?
I got 20 of these
http://www.performancenissanparts.co...roducts_id=161
And went to put them on today, they don't fit. They are too small in diameter and spin freely in the hub, won't seat in there.
Now the car is on the lift as I seem to have completely worn out the stock studs this season, I have broken/stripped at least 12 of them over the past 6 months of autocross. Today I stripped 2, not a happy camper.
I believe I torqued them all too much for a few months, and they are failing one by one, or two by two, now when changing tires. My plan was to just replace them all, but that was to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions?

A little secret to keeping wheel studs from stripping is using anti-seize on them. You can buy a bottle at napa for about $8. I haven't broken a stud since I've been using it.
I'm sure perf nissan can straighten out the sizing issue, but if they can't then give H&R a try.

Well, I figured out the most likely problem.
I got part number 40222 RS025 as that's what Performance Nissan lists on their site as the proper part.
According to www.nissanusa.com's nismo section the 350Z Part is the 40222 RS045
Now hopefully PerfNissan can overnight me a set of the proper studs

Looking at Nissan's site again I am not sure what studs fit the 350Z, as they list both the RS025 and RS045 as fitting....
I do know that the RS025 sure as heck doesn't fit...

PerformanceNissan is sending me the proper studs. I ordered the wrong set due to bad wording on the Nismo items, but PerfNissan has been great to work with! Hope to have the new set on Monday in Topeka and get them switched out!
The anti-seize is to just help keep me from breaking studs. Shouldn't have problems with them backing off if properly torqued.

Be VERY careful people! Lug nut torque is specked out with DRY threads! Adding anti-seize will allow too much of a reduction in friction, giving the stud way too much stretch while achieving equal torque readings, prematurely fatiguing the stud.
DO NOT USE ANY lubricant on the threads!!!!!!!
These fasteners are NOT like engine fasteners, where the fasteners are specked out with lubricated threads.

You did Jason, I posted this before I had talked to you. Should have them installed and ready to go on monday!
I do appreciate the service that I've received from Performance Nissan, they've been helpful and understanding of my time crunch before nationals!
