Default Stock Pontenza wear.

I just changed my rims to my winter tires and noticed that my back stock tires are very near the wear bars. I have approx. 24000 miles. Is this average wear or bad wear (tires actually have about 18000 miles on them)?

Nissan is having a problem with tire feathering/abnormal wear. There is a Technical Service Bulletin on it. I received a check from Nissan reimbursing me for having to buy new tires (Falkens). It seems the alignment is really out of wack, get it checked at the dealer or your new tires may wear just as fast.

I had my front tires replaced at 13000 miles, and a wheel alignment (free from Nissan). The front tires are fine, no feathering on the new ones.

24,000 miles on your stock tires? it's time to replace them.. I think average is 20,000 miles with normal driving..

18,000 on the OEM rears is right in the average zone. Some have barely gotten past 10k while others have gotten into the mid 20k, i got about 25k. Compared to others here i baby my Z. What your mileage tells me is that you drove yours right in the "middle". Got on the gas some times while other times ya just cruised around. For the winter think about throwing blizzaks on your OEM rims. I am in the same situation here in ohio.

i'm at 12000 miles on the stock rears and they are pretty much treadless. i'm overdue for new tires at this point. 24k is an accomplishment on these tires.

Here in Dayton, i was going to check the bridgestone/firestone dealer by the mall, i figured this early if they have to order some they will be in by the snowfall. or at last resort i was going to try one of the websites like tirerack. I am going to the tire dealer this friday for an alignment (just routine maintenence) and i will know then. i can let you know more then.

I've got you all beat. 32K miles on my fronts and rears. I'll be replacing them ASAFP. Rears have just shown wear bars. Front middle and outside tread is still usable, but inside is worn smooth.

Nope, that's me taking my Z to the track regularly. When tires overheat, they get real greasy. Then they start to chunk.

Michael.

Yes I did and they are a good all season tire with a free one year road hazard warranty which I used once already (took a lag bolt thru the sidewall)
