Default iForged 2 or 3 piece wheels ????

Hello,

Some users may've received PM from myself regarding 2 and 3 piece iForged wheels. I'm very confused on this issue and would like some advice from anybody with some knowledge on purchasing two and three piece wheels from iForged.

I plan to purchase 20" iForged Evolution's (20 x 9 front, 20 x 10.5 rear). To my understanding, the construction of iForged three piece wheels are bolted, as opposed to welded like the two pieces, and are lighter in weight.

If I was to order a two piece iForged Evolution and add 'rivets', would they look EXACTLY the same as three piece wheels with the 'bolted' look? I specifically like iForged wheels for this reason. I don't want to spend the extra $$$ for three piece Evo's, if they're gonna look EXACTLY like two pieces (with rivets), as I'm not that concerned about lighter weight.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

that is the same question i had for iforged regarding the look of the 2 vs 3 piece construction. i went with the 2 piece to save some money, and they look exactly like the 3 piece. since the entire wheel is made of aluminum, you wont really save any weight by going with a 3 piece either.

So can you get the same selection of styles on the 2-pc wheels? How much extra were the rivets/powdercoating (protocav)?

I was quoted $100 for a 'high polish' finish + $150 extra for rivets on a 2 piece. Also, 2 pieces don't come in half sizes from iForged(i.e. 20" x 8.5)???

Anyone have feedback about 2 or 3 pieces looking the same from iForged? It's a $600 price difference between the same looking wheels, other than one is a 2 piece and the other is a 3 piece.

I've read that you can get a deeper lip with the 2pc. If you're in the market, theres an iForged group buy going on at ClubLexus. Might be one going on here too, I don't know.

I have 20x8.5 and 20x10 iForged swifts in the 2 piece, so yes they do come in 1/2 sizes. The group buy on club lexus is REAL CHEAP...cheaper than what I got mine for.

According to Paul at Avalon Racing, the three piece is heavier and the wheels look exactly the same as the two piece. I'm not sure what the advantage to the three piece is, other than the greater variety of widths.

only advantage is that they can send you a new rim if you bend one or just want a different width and you can just remove the face from the old wheel and bolt it on to the new

no REAAAAAL advantage

Yeah you can replace each part separately if needed. I think HRE charges like $200-400 to rehoop a wheel. So if you bend a lip real bad or something, you don't have to get a whole new wheels.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I talked to Paul @ Avalon and will be ordering my wheels next week, in 2 piece construction.

I was told by several board members sporting the 2 piece iForged wheels (w/rivets), that they look EXACTLY identical to the 3 piece bolted version. They weight almost the same too. In my situation, I don't see the benefit vs. cost of a 3 piece iForged wheel.

Those with 20" wheels, what tire sizes are you running?

if your going with 20x9" in the front use a 255/35/20 and if your going with 20x10.5" go with 285/30/20 or 295/30/20
