Default What might be causing this?

When I observe my car from the rear, it seems the right rear wheel sticks out about 1/2" beyond the edge of the muguard/fender while the left rear is flush with the edges. This began after installing the Hotchkis springs and sways. The car was aligned by Nissan and is within current specs. What could be causing this effect.

The reason I'm concerned is I never noticed it that way prior to the suspension work.

With in alignment specs,......hmmm.

Does the car drive and track like it should? I wonder if the right toe adjustment bold wasn't tightned correctly.

If you look at the rear toe settings on the paperwork they should have given you, are the left and right toe settings in the after colum even?.

Rear toe is LR-.03, RR-.02. What do you think? It tracks straight and drives as it always has, except for better handling due to the springs & sways.

do you have the track rays?

if so, i would say that the dealer (or alignment shop) mounted one of your 18x8 fronts on the back, and one of your 18x8.5 backs in the front

the point is moot of course if you're running the touring 18s or the base 17s

No its not that. I did the Hotchkis TVS install myself. One axle at a time. I never had all 4 wheels off so they could not get mixed up that way.

Come on guys, none of our resident experts has any other clue. I need some direction on what to look for here.

Do other Z's have this? Maybe it's normal manufacturing tolerance and I just never noticed until focused on suspension.

Comments, opinions, wild *** guesses????????

Can you take a picture of both wheels looking at them straight on from the back to see this effect.

Is the whole wheel or just the top or bottom that is further out?

Does it look like that wheel has more negative camber than the other one?

I tried a pic, but 1/2" is so subtle that from the available angles it's hard to see in a pic. In person it's easy to see.

It is the rear edge the wheel I'm speaking of, not the whole wheel. Its almost as if it were a toe problem, but visibly the toe looks even for both sides.. Toe diff is not that great left to right. LR is .03 RR is .02. Total rear toe is .05, all in degrees.

Of course it could all be an alignment issue if Nissan dealer did a shaby job! I need to find a really well equiped, performance related alignment shop here in Miami, but I don't know of any so far.

I will try a pic again and see if I can get a better one.
