I recently swapped a oem nav unit from one z to another.... Lots of wire work - involves cutting wiring harnessand splicing many wires. And unless you intent to take the screen apart and add the plugs in yourself - no playing dvd's or playstation on stock unit.

Here you go:
Option 1: http://www.nav-tv.com/index02.htm
Option 2: http://www.autoall.com/navigation-converter.htm
These two are very simple interfaces, the second one requiring splicing of four wires. They will allow for a number of A/V inputs, so you can choose what you want to add to the factory navi.
Moral: Anything can be done if you are patient, loaded, and do the research.
Would I go through all this if I were you? No. I would just get a double-DIN aftermarket Nav/DVD unit. Would I do this to my Z when it arrives? Yes, as I will be getting the OEM nav (love in GUI and additional features too much; personal choice).

I looked into the site http://www.tvandnav2go.com and their unit is a plug and play feature, for $225.

i've installed a modded xbox onto my stock navigation. it is possible and fairly easy to do. there is about $250 in parts you will need though, ie. inverter, video interface and modulator. that and another $250-300 in parts to mod an xbox. ive copied and saved every dvd that i own to my xbox.
if your getting it brand new for $500 then it might be worth it from a cost stand point. but im sure the install wont be easy since a lot of its features tie into car functions.
