I don't think many (any?) track pads are available for the rear Akebono calipers. I hear they're working on it, but a month ago when a friend tried to order some for his NISMO 370, none were available.
As for the brackets, it's hard to know who to really trust, ya know?

If I'm lucky I will probably see a track 4-5 times a year, so I can't justify going to Stoptech or Wilwood over oem brembos for the initial and recurring cost at this moment while I'm still in grad school. Pad selection isn't really bad for the oem brembos for my purpose, helluva lot better than the standard brakes and I've found local and internet sources for rotors as well, very affordable.
I've tracked about that much, maybe 5-6 times a year in the past, and that more than justified a stoptech bbk for me. good point though, you have school to contend with at the moment.

Once clinical rotations come around I probably won't even have time to wash the car, let alone track it. I figured if I do end up going a stoptech or wilwood kit in the future if I ever graduate, I can always sell the oe brembos at a decent price, if the prices they are going for now are any indication of what ppl are willing to pay for them.

A few Akebono reviews: https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...ed-squeal.html
An Akebono kit with 2-piece rotors should be suffice for those who daily drive their car and occasionally track their vehicle. But most manufactures are really lagging it on quality 2-pc rotors for these kits. (Stoptech, are you hearing? ).
For heavy track use, I would probably opt for a Stoptech kit.
