Default Headache - need advice

I have searched and searched d have not come to a conclusion .

Need advice please

I have a 07 base z with tein s techs and blown stock shocks
(Purchased the car not to long ago like that)
And when I look for decent shocks everything is in the $5-600 range

I see tein basis coil overs going for $600 online.
I am not to impressed with the drop on my car so I figured the coilovers would close the gap a bit more.

My goal is to have a smooth riding daily driver . Currently the car is on 235/35r19 front 275/35/r19 rear
I like the look of 19" wheels over 18"

Considering my budget , would you get shocks ? Or get the tein basis coilovers ?

I could not find any pics of cars on basis coilovers

You get what you pay for.

Personally i wouldnt touch coils that are less than quality brand such as kw. But thats just me.

The coils maybe only 600, but if youre dropping it more and need camber adjustment, thats more money. Just saying. Everything isnt always the price as advertise when it comes to modding. There are "hidden costs". I would save and get quality coils.

I already have the hidden cost in mind ( camber kits and what not)
But I was always under the impression tein was a quality name ?

Kw v1 would be amazing but I can not afford to buy those at the moment. This is a daily driver to work and back. No track car or anything like that .

if you are not tracking the car any, do you really need coils?

i would go with a nice spring shock combo

I was only leaning towards coilovers because of the adjustability
I would like to have the car sit with no wheel gap , but not tucking

If you drive in an area where there is no snow, no salt, very few potholes, and very little rain, then the lower range Tein coilovers will work just fine and provide you smooth, quiet operation.

The main problems with cheap Tein coilovers are usually rusting, bottoming out, and debris going into the shocks. However, they tend to age well if you do not drive much on broken and heavily salted roads.

If you must do coilovers i would go with the bilstein b14 before getting the tein basis, u can scoop up the the b14s for under a grand. Or for about $600 get urself some tokico blue shocks and some eibach pro kits or tanabe gf210 springs

Don't bother with BC coilovers. I have installed and worked on them. They often cause troubles within two years. The shocks would lose damping from regular use and their components do not last for street use.

If you live in California, the Tein Street Basis is great because they are damped and sprung for the street. They use the same materials and finishes as the high end Tein products. And they are cheap because the damping and valving technology are very close to stock. As long as you don't drive in the wet too often and there is no salt in your area, these will last a long time.

Below is the picture.
