Default Purchasing a Z from a non Nissan dealer?

All,

What are your thoughts on purchasing a used Z from a non Nissan dealership? (Say like Ford or Honda or watever). Would you do that?

I mean, would they have enough information (tech/mech) about the car? Since it is a non Nissan dealership, I am assuming even their service crew will not be Nissan certified. Which kind of raises a flag right there. (Thinking about future visits to the dealership for mechanical issues).

Or have I mistaken? I mean, can non nissan dealerships have nissan trained staff to work on the cars?

Thx!

I purchased mine from a Chevy lot, they didn't know much about the car but they let me take it for a day before buying so I could have it checked out by my own mechanic. All worked out well in the end and I actually was able to talk them down in price quite a bit because I knew more about the car than they did.

It is ALWAYS good if you know more about the car than the salesman.
I got my Z from a non-Nissan dealer. Happy as hell with it.

Just because you buy it from a "...Ford or Honda or whatever" dealership does NOT mean you have to take it there for service.

Where would you take it if you bought it from a private party?

I would take ANY used car to whatever service shop that I felt was the most qualified to service it.

^+1 I pay more attention to the techs in the shop than the name on the building.
