That is so awesome. I'd be down to give it a try, maybe a write-up or instructions on how to change out said part for those not familiar with that region of the vehicle? I love my Z but 1-2 shifts are teh sux0rz!1!11!

Didn't you take some pictures as you did the mod? Let's see them, please.

Got pictures of how I modified my pedal assembly in the DIY area back in December.

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-drivetrain-and-forced-induction-diy/509820-diy-repositioning-clutch-pedal-2.html

For $100 and a bolt in solution I would have bought it.

One of the best driver input mods one can do.

I pulled the part out of the car and brought it to a muffler shop. 7$ later and I end up with this.

The clutch mod that ian99rt linked to is only for the 07' and up 350's and 370's and doesn't apply to the earlier cars. The pedal brackets in those cars are different from the earlier ones as they were changed at the same time they introduced the concentric slave cylinders.

I thought I'd gone back and added that already.
According to courtesyparts the pedal assemblies are the same.
iansrt's mod has to do with the pedal location, the slave cylinder has nothing to do with it. Besides a 7$ mod beats a 100$ anyday. Why would I pay 100$ to get thay so called better feel when I did it for 7$. Its like buying an ARC oil canister vs an universal one.

migueralliart you could have done your mod for free. All you had to do was throw that spring away! Read my original post and you'll see I did that 6 months ago. The new mod feels 10x better then the spring mod... at least it does to me. If your happy with your spring mod then great. I'm happy for you.

My mod has nothing to do with that spring or relocating a bracket on the pedal.

It does have Everything to do with changing the characteristics of the Master Cylinder by changing the leverage point of the pedal. Changing the travel of the Master Cylinder also changes what the Slave cylinder does.

My proposed mod completely replaces the factory pedal bracket assembly with an all new unit. That spring is long gone in the new design as well.

The only factory parts being reused in my design is the clutch arm and the switches.

Maybe a simple ms paint diagram will let folks see what your new design does.

I have to say I'm quite curious.

I'm down to try it also. I think you would get a lot more interest with a lower price. It would definitely benefit you in the end because more people will have it and rave about it. Gotta give a little at the start to reap full benefits.
