Swapping tails require no rewiring.
Just leave out the extra pigtail for the side marker on the 03 to 05.

Door panels.. You can re-use the inside handles and vents.
The switch panel is required.
As far as electrical connections.... You will need to splice the wire to the light in the cup-holder if you need it.
Else plug and play.

I replaced most on my 03 a while back

I've also swapped the doorpanels from an '06 Z into my '03 preorder. Yes, I can confirm that it's better to switch ALL the parts to the panel, rather than trying to reused parts from the earlier version. Another feature of the revised door panels is the nicely padded section just above the armrest (see post #1). I find this is something useful for every time you exit the vehicle. BTW- I didn't wire up the lighted cup holders and found it was a direct swap as well.

I haven't compare the switches for a while. Why do you recommend on swapping them out? Are the switches the same though?

The answer is: NO, you cannot switch the door switch panels from '03-05 to the '06-08 They are different and will not fit.

I just did this on my 2005 and it turned out great. You need these parts:
x2 2006+ door panels (L&R)
x2 2006+ switch panels (L&R)
x1 2006+ pass. side vertical aluminum trim piece

Re-use your stock window switches and all of the wiring plugs in. The new panels have an LED cup holder light that you can custom-wire in, but there isn't much to it, pretty easy.

Some of the mounting points won't match up so it won't be held on quite as good, but the major ones do so it is fine. Also on the driver side you have to move a wire harness. The new cup holder will run into the wires if you do not relocate them. Again, not hard to do.

It seems that the switch panels from all years are the same part number.

I want to upgrade my 05 to Nismo panels, and I think my switches will fit, but im not sure. Anybody know for sure?

The switches are but not the panels they go into.
Why Nismo, do you have them already? Those are going to be harder to find, you're better off getting the original, you can always modify them as well. I got my arm rests and door cards recovered when I did mine.

The rest of my interior and my all my exterior is Nismo. I found Nismo panels and they are on their way from Miami.
