Was passing a bad driver cruising in the left lane... when an armadillo scurried out from in front of that car and I smoked him... he looked like a pretty size-able one.
Completely wrecked my Z speed undershroud which got halfway ripped out and folded under itself. All of the mounting tabs for the undershroud to the front bumper are ripped out. The "mini" radiator up front (what is that?) is bent pretty good. The "front apron and radiator core" as courtesyparts calls it is split in half in one spot and broken in a handful of other spots. One of the radiator fans is busted up and to top it off my radiator is leaking...
Dealerships initial repair estimate was $2500, won't be surprised if that goes up.
Ouch bummer. The little radiator is your condensor for your ac.
That's life though. I was in your same spot s few months back with some jackasses suitcase fell off his truck and I hit it going 70+. At least you got some revenge on the 'diller.

It's one of the downsides of the Z Speed undershroud not discussed much. Since it a bit heavier than the OEM composite shroud, it uses two screw type fasteners to hold it to the radiator support. If an accident happens where the undershroud is damaged, it can rip those two screw type fasteners right out of the radiator support. Unfortunate, but that's what happens when you own a low sportscar...
Insurance adjuster looked at it today. Total cost has gone up to $3400. Getting a whole new front bumper and they're going to reimburse me for a new z speed undershroud

If you're going to use the Z Speed undershroud again, make sure your estimate includes a new core, or radiator, support for the Z. The accident you had likely ripped the bottom of the core support out and the new undershroud won't attach in the same areas any longer.

Well, as it turns out the dealership claims they were already going to replace it with an aluminum undershroud (priced at $208). Insurance adjuster said if I wasn't happy with it I could order the zspeed shroud and they would reimburse me for it. It'll be interesting to see what aluminum shroud the dealership puts on it.
The parts list was faxed over this afternoon and it includes the radiator support as well as a whole new radiator assembly (radiator, hoses, both fans, etc). Pretty happy about that because I honestly didn't expect the whole assembly to be replaced.
They listed a Keystone replacement front bumper on there but I am going to call tomorrow and request an OEM Nissan replacement.
For ****S sake. I swear, auto shops never cease to disappoint. ****ing dipshit highschool dropouts that don't know how to turn a wrench in the back. Every mother ****ing time I deal with them they can't do a damn thing right. I NEVER take my car to the shop but I didn't have any other options this time.
The air intake tube circle clamp was completely lose and dangling about

The fender liners are missing screws and were clearly not installed properly
That's what I see on the surface but at that rate I'd be shocked if there isn't more half-assed workmanship in the radiator assembly/support...
And what really pisses me off, they ruined the finish on my wheels which were absolutely spotless before. I already tried alcohol and it did nothing. My research tells me there is nothing else I can do besides get them refinished. The pictures only show some of it.. they chipped the rim to the bare metal in multiple other spots.
go raise hell, the chevy dealership gouged and chipped one of my wheels..... they tried painting and couldn't get it to match so they finally replaced it with a new one
They are looking into a place to get the wheels refinished, as am I.
From research, I now know all about the possibility of my wheels being over baked by a novice powder coating shop. They are not completely forged, only spun forged but I am still concerned none the less. Only the front wheels were damaged, can I expect the existing and new finishes to match?
Part of me doesn't even want to give my wheels to a shop... Its all too likely to be a repeat of every other time I take my stuff to a shop. It never comes back as good as it was before.
If anyone has a recommendation for a reputable wheel powder coating shop I'd appreciate it.
What part of Alabama are you in? Are you close to the AL/FL line?
Yes, I am pretty close to the AL/FL line and would be willing to go into Florida to get it done by a good shop. I did exactly that when mounting tires on the new wheels.
Racetrack Powersports is down the road from where I live in Fort Walton Beach, I know they do powder coating and I've heard good things about them, never used them personally however.
