Feeler - GB on Do-Luck Replica Lift Up Hood w/ NISMO VENTS
I'm posting a feeler for punksterz626 to gauge interest in a replica of the Do-Luck Lift Up Hood. There have been a couple threads in the past in reference to this and has dissappointed alot of people. I proposed this to Tommy(punksterz626) and he said he can make this happen. With the obvious success so far of his other GB, hopefully this one can run just as smooth.
Option 1: Replica of Do-Luck hood in FG
Option 2: Replica of Do-Luck hood in CF (overlay-not DCF)
Option 3: Replica of Do-Luck hood in FG with NISMO inspired vents
Option 4: Replica of Do-Luck hood in CF with NISMO inspired vents
The hood gives an OEM appearance but is raised in the center and allows hot engine temps to escape the rear. I know this would help with some possible clearance issues people may have with spacers, plenums, struct bars. But just how much, I'm not sure of exact measurements.
Pics of the Do-Luck Lift Up Hood:

Additional pics of the authentic hood can be seen here:
http://www.do-luck-usa.com/widebody_nissan_350.html
The nismo "inspired" vents will look Exactly like the ones found on the R-tune and RS Concept Z as shown below:

The authentic FG version is $1,200 + shipping. The authentic CF version is $1,550 + shipping.
Option 1: $600.00
Option 2: $800.00
Option 3: $600.00
Option 4: $900.00
All the above is + shipping. We haven't discussed further discounts per total commitments. I'll let him chime in in reference to cost, availability, etc... I'm unaware of how many total committment needed. Again, I'll let Tommy chime in. I'll be away from the computer tonight, I'll check back in the morning.

Quote from Do-Luck:
Do-Luck has always strived to not only improve a cars styling but also to improve its performance...The Aero hoods are designed to draw air through the engine compartment not just have open vents that look good but really have no performance benefits.

Hahaha! I remember bringing up this idea a long time ago. I'm down if the quality & price is good. I bought the previous JGTC version (shown above on the red z) in fiberglass & it was just too flimsy for me so I never pulled through with it. Definitely needed hood pins to keep it down. One of the reasons why I felt that they needed hood pins is that the latch area NEEDS to be reinforced since it will deteriorate over time with normal use. Also, the framework definitely needs to be rigid especially if you are going to go with a fiberglass piece. Finally if you are going with a JGTC look, the vents definitely need to be a bit larger. You'll know what I'm talking about if you compare the vents shown above to an actual JGTC hood.
Anyways, I'm interested but I'm little hesitant now from my previous experience. Nothing seemed more rigid & fitted better than my OEM hood so I'd like to see this first prior to making my decision. It doesn't even have to have the JGTC vents either. I think if they can even just get a quality Do-Luck style hood, I'd be real interested.

I remember you and I really pushing that vendor for this. When I saw what he could do with the V2 GB I asked, he said it was possible, and here we are.
I'm sure Tommy will chime in and answer any questions everyone may have.
As far as the vents:
The vents in the pic have 3 total. I'm proposing 4-5 vents and making them slightly wider toward the outside of the hood. For a slightly more aggressive look than the pic.

Hmm? Just a thought but if the louver design doesn't work out, how about using this design...

I think it'll be a lot more functional too. These will help bring cool air in while the Do-Luck design will help force hot air out. Plus it looks a lot cleaner & will save in costs since the design/cuts is a lot simpler. Probably just needs to reinforce the edges a bit so they don't crack.

How about a F550 or NACA style air inlet in the center front of the hood - in addition to what is planed already? More air in. I guess the raised part is open to the rear so the hot air can escape? Any shots from the drivers seat so we get the idea?

The Seibon crowd also needs to remember, this hood as a replica with or without vents isn't offered by ANYONE!

Edit-I didn't answer your question. No I haven't seen any pics from the drivers side or any good ones showing the rear at the windshield. Believe me I've looked. Maybe someone has a pic hidden away somewhere, but I'm inclined to say we may not see a pic until Tommy orders the authentic hood.
