Default 18 front 19 rear?

Has anyone put 18's on the front and 19's on the rear with aftermarket wheels?

Input please!

If you have VDC, you have to keep the ratio of front/rear circumference within about 3% of stock to keep from pissing off the VDC system. Therefore, you have some constraints.

On the track and performance wheels using 225/45-18Fronts and 245/45-18Rear, the circumferential difference is 2.23 inches (fronts are smaller than rears).

If you were to go with a tire size like 225/45-18 front and 275/35-19 rear, you'd have a difference of 1.89 inches. This .34 inch variance from stock is probably ok, but the difference in sidewall height (front would be 5 mm taller than the rear) is going to look a little odd.

Additionally, you're very likely going to seriously change the handling characteristics of the car with the differential sidewall roll front and rear.

I personally wouldn't do it.

Thanks for the info... more curious then anything else. I as well was a Vette owner, 1998 & 2002 C5 and the 18 rear and 17 front on those got me thinking.

I am going with the Axis Milano 19" wheels, staggered

You can do it. There was someone on here that had 20" rears and 19" front with axis seven mods. It does look a little odd. It looks awesome on muscle cars but kinda out of place on our cars i think.

I dissagree. The combo of 18s in front and 19s in back would work out very well. With 245/40/18 and 275/35/19, the sidewall height would be constant front to back, and the factory stagger would remain.

The Corvette has done this since the advent of the C5 (17s and 18s). The C6 has 18s and 19s.

IMO, this is an excellent way to go, and if I were to do it over again, this is the path I would choose to follow. Again, IMHO, 19s are just to big for the front, and the ride suffers as well as the wheel and the suspension being more susceptible to damage from imperfect roads.

YOu can do it with no problem...

If you go 18x8.5 / 19x9.5 the tire sizes needed will have to be...

245/40/18 / 275/35/19

Tire diameters are the same as stock / nismo wheels (which work with VDC with these diameters)

If you like the look go for it!

Its weird because 19" rears can sometimes be less expensive then 18... eh eh
