CAI will not help your time at all.
New rubber would be the best mod.
stock Touring capable of 5.4 seconds.

Engine mods:
* plenum/CAI/cat-back combo
* Ts ECU reflash (7100rpm redline)

Drivetrain mods:
* tires
* clutch/flywheel combo
* EVO 3.9 final drive

There's more... oh, and practice .

An intake will increase acceleration slightly above 4500 RPM... Not by a huge amount... maybe a tenth of a second in the 1/4"

Its a random occurance with the stalling.. But from what i've seen a max of maybe 4.5 whp gain. And thats being modest. I plan on putting one on in the next week or so.

I would say lighten up the car a bit too... Take out the spare, put some race buckets in, maybe a CF hood... Light rims..

1 CAI
2 Cat back
3 Headers

Install your intake first yourself, and then pay a shop to do the headers and exhaust at the same time.

Sorry, i tossed the instructions. But you only have to loosen the front bumper, you dont have to remove the whole thing. Its actually pretty easy 45-1hr install time.. I have noticed increased breathablity, and HP at higher RPM's..

Good Luck!

5.4 0-60, and 1/4 mile 14.1 , but i also live in the Mile Hi city, where you are at sea level. Your times will be much quicker.

I'm sorry I just find it funny that vikram is obssessed with 0-60 times! Vikram are you going to be building a dragster? If you are planning on dragging then your going to have to do some serious mods like forced induction, not those ittle things. Granted they are a start to things, but i would go a diffrent root.

I'd say what are your objectives?

Do you want faster 0-60 times?

Do you want a car you can drive everyday?

Do you just want to add a little performance?

Do you have money for alot of mods?

Tell us what your trying to achieve....

CAI is argueable worthless. the Z already has a sealed off intake to the bumper, so its technically cold air already. at low speeds you might argue the air in the bumper could heat up, but above 20mph your gonna get plenty of fresh air running right into the intake. so... why would it help? popcharger improves on the design of the existing intake, and doesnt extend the tube(longer tube, more resistance; sucking through a long vs short straw try it)

you can do all 3 of those in any order, I just have an exhaust, and IMO its the biggest difference cause between the 3 that might maybe hopefully with a prayer get you 8-15hp, the exhaust atleast makes the biggest sound impact. and will be most noticable to you at the end of the day.

headers are handy to do at the same time just cause its in the area of the exhaust, though the exhaust is a 2hour job and the headers I hear are a handful.
