Default Noticed a lot of "slop" in first and second gear....

...when driving home tonight. I was climbing a hill and smelled something burning and could not identify the odor. I thought it was the car ahead of me.

I got home and noticed that my stick shift moves side to side considerably in first and second, less so in third and fourth, and barely in 5th and 6th.

I have a 2003 Enthusiast with 15,000 miles. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Damn that sucks. Hopefully your dealer will be able to diagnose and repair it all under warranty and not give you the run around, like: "Driver abuse, operates as designed, you have a 3M clear bra, that is a modification and thus we feel that has contributed to your tranny issue. . ."
