Feeling bad I pased the Z
I was so excited that this Sunday my 6MT Redline Track Z was ready to be picked up. Of course I test drove it. Unfortunately, the Z did not fit me ergonomically. I am 5'4" and I had to sit close to be comfortable with the clutch. But my right elbow was touching against the seat right bolster hard every time I was on 2nd, 4th or 6th gear. I do not have this problem with my Integra Type R. I wish I was either two inch longer at my leg or two inch taller on my torso. Too bad there is no height adjustment on the seat. There is an adjustment to tilt the front part of the seat up or down for your thigh, but you cannot raise the seat. I wonder if the power seat has height adjustment in the Touring model.
Other than the ergonomical problem, the Z rocks. The red is just gorgeous and extremely sharp looking. Everyone on the road was looking at the car when I was test-driving it. I love the red very much. My impressions follow:
Comparison to my Integra Typer R:
Given my okay driving skill, the Z accelerates better than the R. The Z also handles slightly better due to (I guess) wider tire and stiffer chasis.
Comparison to S2000:
I don't own a S2k, but I test-drove it once. IMHO, the Z may be a bit rough for a V6 engine. I guess it is highly tuned to squeeze the power out. S2K may be a bit more nimble than the Z. Also given my okay driving skill, I can drive the Z faster than the S2K. The Z feels more stable than S2K on high speed (on highway) due to possibly weight, stiff chasis, air diffuser, etc. The ergonomical problem I had with S2K is worse than the Z. That is why I didn't buy it. Since you don't need to rev the Z too much to get the power, it means the Z is quieter inside the cabin.
BTW, I also sat in a Boxster (not test drive). The feel of the clutch and the shifter of the Boxster is very close to the Z.
Conclusion:
I am sad. But I glad for anyone who has a Z. The Z is a great value car. You get European car feel at Japanese car price. The look and performance of the Z is awesome given its bargain price. I might need a surgery to get a pair of fake legs so that I can drive a Z comfortably. Hope the above does not offend anyone. Have fun with your Z.

I know how you feel. I have trouble getting in and out of the car because I keep bumping into the steering wheel and rubbing my back on the side of the seats.
That's the problem of putting my seats up too close.
I don't like sitting too far, and I like to keep my back straight.
I also don't like locking my knees when I push the clutch in.
I know it isn't too relaxed of a position, but hey... it keeps me attentive.

I hope I can find a way to make my car work when I pick it up (months from now) I'll fit okay. I'm only 5'2" and when I test drove the car I felt a little short, but I also drove an automatic, and I'm getting the 6 speed.
This is the second time I've heard about this, so I'm starting to worry.

Get a G35Coupe, the power seats go up really high. Same motor tranny and suspension, just a longer wheelbase and de-tuned shock and spring rates. Interior is much better, better warranty, loaner cars, blah blah. I think the Z is a hair quicker and bit better handling but the G35 is a close second.

I actually sat in a G35C (prototype) once. Indeed, the seat can be adjusted almost any way you want it. It is more luxurious than the Z. However, I like the look of the Z. My wife also likes the Z's look and she won't be happy if I bought the G35c because its look is not to her liking.
I will watch for next Z model year. Hopefully they have fully adjustable seat then. Thanks for the opinions of those who responed to my thread.

Well, I am 5'5"....almost anyway , and I do have to move the seat up, but you still can drive comfortably with the back part of the seat adjusted to your liking. View over the hood is still ok. I really think you still can drive the Z, even at 5'4". Don't give it up man!

Im 5'9 5'10ish and I would like to be higher actually... I can see fine, shift fine, but my sight is right down the hood, I cant look down on the hood, I just barely look tangent to it. I wouldnt want to be any shorter in the Z. and touring has the same hight adjustment for up and down, its even manual(a bit of a ripoff I thought)

install some spacers to original seats or get a custom seat and put it in the way you want. It's not a reason to reject a car!
