You all really think the Sti looks ugly?
That is harsh. I think it looks nice and it is unique.

The Sti's performance is a tad bit better than the Z (assuming both are in stock form). This is no secret.

Honestly I think both cars were designed for different purposes though.

From what I've read, they have all their power lower in the powerband. They don't have much oomph up top, which is why a lot of cars can take them from a roll.

STi's and EVO's have PLENTY of power up top...

They pull to redline, unlike ours Z which do not.

btw... I haven't "read" this... I've worked with them on the dyno, and driven plenty.

I drove the mad crap out of an STI and EVO 8 during a dealer test drive (the salesman owned a modded EVO 8 w/ 3" Greddy cat back, cams, ecu, etc...) and so it was no surprise that he didn't crap his pants or have a heart attack when I redlined each gear and took it up to about 120mph on the back roads. They are nice cars and in my opinion, I would take the EVO 8 (white with black leather Recaro interior) over the STI anyday, however having a 2-door coupe is still nicer for cruising and picking up chicks! I love the Z!!!

My friend has a evo 8 and fully mods (header, exhaust, reflash-ecu, upgrade turbo kits e.t.c = more than 40k total) and he is about to sell his car to get a Z track + turbo later. The reasons is too much turbo lag for a short range shift. Evo + STI are good cars but 2.5 turbo can't compare to 3.5 with bigger turbo.....all will cost you roughly 40k. This is my .02 cent opinion.

All very true...plus a 2-door sports car will always have more sex appeal than a 4-door sedan, yes even the M5

I had an STi for about a year and just traded it for an '05 Enthusiast. There is NOTHING overrated about the power of an STi. If you have lived with it for a while, it is very difficult to get owned by anyone. Before that I had a WRX and the power difference down low and up high was impressive. It is a difficult car to drive every day - everything is very raw, you can feel paint stripes in the pavement thru the suspension. The Z is much more liveable every day - maybe not as practical, but much more relaxed.
