How long does it take if I order a Z?
I am very close to ordering a 2005 Roadster Touring.
Has anyone ordered one in the past 8 months? If so, how long did it take for the car to be delivered?
Is there a contact right at the factory that can be contacted for updates?
Thanks,

3 - 4 is just about right, unless the dealer gets lucky. If you place an order and a car happens to be at the port or arrives at the port that matches your order, and it's not destined for another dealer's order, then you may get that one. The dealer will also search the inventory of other dealers for a match and try to trade for it. If you have to wait for it to come from Japan, 3 months is normal. Keep in mind that dealers typically order once a month, usually in the first week. If you order today, it probably won't be submitted until after Jan 2. That means that the 3 month clock starts then, not today when you place the order.

Actually I was coming back to this thread because I just read the thread further down the page that answered my question.

Dealer ordered 04 Touring roadster on May 5 and I took delivery on July 30. (one week short of 3 months). HOWEVER.....It took from mid March when I placed my deposit with the dealer 'till he got his allocation on May 5 and was able to place the factory order. Dealer said that dealers in Northern states-ie Michigan - get fewer convertible allocations than those in southern states.
Yes, all Z's are made in Japan. However, the interesting part is that while my car came off the ship in Seattle and went from there to Chicago by train and to Western Michigan by truck The window sticker says that the "Final Assembly Point" was Los Angeles. Go Figure???

I just ordered my '05 Z and they will be placing the actual order the first week in January and said I will have it by April. But I am not picking it up until the snow stops...PA sucks.
