When I was first shopping for a 350Z, my first choice color was PPW (White). However, the only Enthusiast model that the dealer had at that time was an 05 Entusiast Ultra Yellow. My color preference in order was:
1. White
2. Le Mans (Orange)
2. Black
3. Silver/CS (either)
4. Daytona Blue
Red, Brick, and Yellow were out of the question in buying. I was never fond of Yellow or Red, just way toooooo flashy for my taste.
To make a buying story short, I ended up with an Ultra Yellow with a nice discount (poor car had 76 miles already and no buyers, probably raced like hell, but it sured dynos fairly high for a stock car). I obviously knew the dealer, didn't want to keep this one around and negotiations were rather uncontested in most parts.
The first day, I was pretty wishy washy in owning a "Yellow" sports car. In some ways, I felt even with the discount, I still preferred white. Most of my time was spent driving the Z the first day, so I didn't get alot of time to gwak at what I bought. After spending time to wash the Z, I finally realized that the Ultra Yellow color did have some kinda nice glittery shine (when looked at very closely). At night, the car does kinda stands out a little more too.
The amount of attention you get with this color is incredible. It feels like everyone is staring at you and chances are you will see someone eyeing you. However, you get the bad part of ricers thinking your the 35th aniversary Z (unless you bought the 35th aniversary), and cops eyeing you if your speeding. In addition to police, due to the color, I would probably keep mods pretty light for the time being since the color stands out ALOT.
It took me about a good 2 weeks to finally get confortable with the color and I pretty much accepted being a yellow attention getter. On Z events, you'll most likely be sticking out like a sore thumb (you won't have trouble finding your car). In addition, my car dynoed 242 WHP 235 WTQ (1,500 miles - Stock) not SAE corrected at ~55 F and Humidty off the charts (it was a rainy day), no dyno fan was used. The higher than normal dyno numbers made it sweet owning a yellow Z. (Of course, I plan to do some more dynoing to confirm the numbers). NO, the color doesn't mean your car dyno higher btw.
A few things bother me about the yellow though, the color kinda makes the rims look cheesy (except for the 35th anivery). If you want an OEM or Nismo spoiler, you'll have to wait till Nissan releases the product code . You will need to invest in a clear bra, the paint is too special to chip .
If your a person starving for attention (and I do mean you gotta love attention and accept the other unfavorable attention), than the Ultra Yellow is for you. If you don't like attention, time to look at some other color that best suits your personality/preference. As of date, I have seen another Ultra Yellow pass me, but I has in my beater.

yep, I definitely get LOTS of looks in my yellow out on the streets as well. I'm a big fan of yellow though. In the sun the metal flake glimmers through and it's gorgeous. The yellow is a special order color though so should be pretty uncommon. I've never seen another one on the road yet and I haven't seen another one at any of the 2 local dealer lots either.

I love my Yellow -- and it is very rare (less than 5% of all 2005s will be Yellow).
FLZ_Boy got lucky with his Yellow. Many dealers are asking for mark-up w/ yellow. It's in very short supply versus demand.

dirt shows really easy which kinda bites....especially for a clean freak like me. It's just about like having a white car in that regard.
