No Hood Insulation
Just noticed that the hood/engine bonnet/? is not insulated.
Never seen that on any car I've owned........(I'll leave out a few beaters).
Is this a fact for production?
Personally, I don't mind. I like the mechanical sounds of an engine.
I guess was overwhelmed by the shots of the strut tower brace.
It will definitlally make it eeasier to keep it clean!
Man, It's getting hard to find something new to post!

In thinking back over my 3 previous ZZZ, I can't recall that any of them had hood insulation. They never caught fire either.

Although, my neighbor had a 94 taurus which needed electrical work done on it. Being the cheap guy that he was, he went to Uncles Bobs car fixer uppers.
Three days later, i was coming home to find the car total ingulfed in flames. Some how there was a short and it set fire to the engine bay. What a sight.

Thats not cool, I had an old K car that didnt have underhood insulation. It was actually my parents that I inherited after 20 years and the hood turned a different color after a while because there is nothing shielding the metal from the heat of the engine. I think this could possibly play havoc with the paint of the hood in the long term.

No insulation = driver hears the engine better!
No insulation = less weight = better performance! (Combined with other weight savings)
No insulation = one less thing that can possibly need to be fixed (if the plastic holders broke or something)
I don't think we need to worry about it catching on fire, unless you're mod'ing it and/or racing, maybe.
I don't want this car to be like driving a Lincoln where you can't even tell if the engine's running. I wanna hear it!

My guess is production will not have insulation as well. My 1994 Porsche 968 did not have any insulation and I am pretty sure that my 1994 Intagra GSR did not have insulation either.

He's lucky his house didn't go up in flames too.
